"In "My Words Will Be There" Audre Lorde names erotic experience as the souce of women's wisdom. She further goes on to state that on one hand the superficially erotic has been encouraged as a sign of female inferiority; and on the other women have been made to feel both contemptible and suspect by virtue of it's effects. In short it is but a step from there to the false belief that only by the suppression of the erotic within our lives and consciousness can women be truly strong. But the erotic offers a well of replenishing and provocative force to the woman who does not fear its revelation, nor succumb to the belief that sensation alone is enough. The erotic is a measurement between the beginnings of our sense of self and the chaos of our strongest feelings."
What I want this page to convey is the understanding of the state of something being erotic. Born from the Greek word eros, it is the personification of love in all its aspects. The Erotic comes from Chaos, and the personifying creative power and harmony. When something is erotic it isn't always something to do with the bedroom. Erotic is the exact opposite of pornagraphic, which is sensation without feeling.
