My Itinerary for Santiago

Sunday, June 10 2001

7:15pm: United Airlines flight # 3280 from YYZ (Toronto)to MIA(Miami)departures

10:24pm: Arrive in Miami

11:40pm: United Airlines flight # 997 from MIA (Miami) to SCL (Santiago, Chile)

Monday, June 11 2001

7:55 am: Arrive in Santiago

8:30am: Pick up rental car at Alamo Car Rentals located at the Airport

11am: Check in at Sheraton Santiago Hotel

2pm: Drive to Centro Alto - The town/city where the higher class people live. Many parks, shopping centres, and art galleries.

7pm : Dinner at Boderio, 6400 Av. Monsenor Escrisa de Balagrer

Tuesday June 12 2001

All day: Cerro San Cristobal and Cerro Santa Lucia. San Cristobal is a park with a zoo, and from the top of Santa Lucia, you can view Santiago. At San Cristobal is a statue of the Virgin Mary that looks towards the south

Wed. June 13 2001

All Day: The City of Maipu.

The city of Maipu is located to the west of the central core of Santiago. This area is where the last battle occured between the Chileans and Spaniards, which is when Chile gained independence from Spain on April 5th 1810. The General Liberator Bernardo O’Higgins built a church in the name of the Virgin Mary. The Churches name is Templo Votivo de Maipu, and is visable from many miles away.

All Day: Plaza De Armas

The Plaza de Armas, is the historical centre of Santiago. There are many statues and museums in this area

Friday June 15:

Early Afternoon:Palacio de la Monedo

The Palacio is the former mint, presidental Residence and the site of Allends last stand.

Late Afternoon: Museo de Santiago

Dinner at El Meson de Fanor

Saturday June 16

Afternoon: Zoologico de Santiago

Evening: Teatro Municipal : The Main place for the Arts in Santiago. Ballets and Operas are preformed here.

Sunday June 17

All day: Parke O’Higgins

Monday June 18

All Day: Shopping at Paseo Ahumada

Paseo Ahumada is a big shopping area in downtown Santiago. It is an avenue in which no cars may drive in. There are many shops, and boutiques. This is a very popular and elegant part of Santiago.
