Later
later is a sound of moving water
twisting into ribbons
winding through tree branches, reaching down into roots
sucking the juices of
hardwired datawhores
syringe hilt-deep in a thick thigh pumping black swans into
the bloodstream as graceful driftwood,
walking, singing dirges in the blue-black rain
giggling
sensical bubbles into jeweled skies, amber
genies with trackmarks, hands pressed against the glass
rotten glazed nightmare fruit filled with bugs
devouring
children,
crushing
infants
into a red red pulp, beneath carriage wheels.
Spiderskin
The tattooed woman gasped,
Carnations in her mouth,
Sapphire snakescales opening,
Raining electric holocaust and goldfish mermaids
Into the mirrored sun.
In the Aquarium Aisle at Wally-World
The fish
Flopped out of the tank.
It was all for the best, really.
I watched its belly flash
In the sickening light of
Wal-Mart flourescents and said
“At least he won’t get ate
By the other fish when he dies.”
