First of all...thank you for visiting my home page. My name is Mikel McGee and I live on this beautiful tropical island of Key West. I have had many people ask me via E-mail the "whats" and "wheres" of Key West. I am currently employed with Wesley House, Inc., a child care coordinating agency located here in Key West, as their Director of Development. I coordinate fund raising events, research and write grants and serve as the public relations contact for the agency. I work with a great staff who are dedicated to their work as well as the families and children we serve. We serve over 1000 families and children per year in the Florida Keys. Our services include financial assistance for child care, resource and referral, early childhood education and training and in-home family services. I have lived in Key West since February of 1996 and enjoy the Keys Lifestyle. Even though I have lived here for only a short time, I have visited the Keys on and off since 1966. A lot has changed since then, but one thing is for certain...the magic remains.
I would like to say just a couple of things. I have found through my experiences in life that nothing outside of oneself can make one happy…no amount of money, not a relationship, no matter how loving and not any surroundings. The only way I have found to achieve true happiness is by finding and coming to believe in a power greater than I. This for me has worked and I just hope the path you are on will lead you to your higher power. So with that, try to practice unconditional love in everything you do and most of all…be good to yourself!!!
