HOUMA FIRE

Louisiana-USA
Were located about 50 miles south of New Orleans in Terrebonne parish (the good earth). We serve a population of about 40,000 people in a 25 square mile area. We have a midsize airport with alot of oilfield traffic on a daily basis. Hwy 90 runs through downtown Houma supporting hundreds of trucks and equipment for the oilfields. The Intracoastal Waterway seperates the city into 2 large sections, the east and west sides.
We have 5 stations and 1 adm. station. Each station has 1 Engine and 3 personal who work a 24/48 hour shift. Central station consist of the Fire Chief, Asst. Chief, 3 District Chiefs, Training, Maintance, Fire Prevention and Inspection Divisions. The fire stations consist of a Captain, Fire Equipment Operator, and a Firefighter. We send 2 engines and a District Chief to every call. We run only fire calls and average 400 calls a year.
The people of Houma enjoy a Class 3 ISO insurance rating and we are in the process of adding more personal and equipment and will try to lower our rating later in the year.
