Strategies:

This game was originally designed to run on low quality computers, so everyone would have a fair chance to play it.  The first level creeps are Light Armor units, after that, it fully rotates every 4 levels.  Here is a chart showing the order, and which towers are best used:

Light Armor (tiny units) - Fire
Medium Armor (fast units) - Ice
Heavy Armor (flying units) - Lightning
Fortified Armor (heavy units) - Earth

The creeps always appear in that order, and continue in that order from start to finish.  There is plenty of time to upgrade towers between their respective levels.  For example, if level 8 (fortified armor) has just finished, it is a good idea to upgrade your earth towers because the next fortified level is not until level 12.  Though your earth tower may do some damage in the other levels, it won't do near as much as the other towers will to their respective armor types.

Using the proper defense against the proper armor type becomes most crucial after level 20, since that is where the creep hp and armor begin to rise dramatically.

Another note to take into consideration are bosses.  Bosses appear on levels 10, 20, 30, and 40 (type "-list levels" in-game to get a list) and have boss type armor.  Mechanical towers come in handy here.  Here is a list of the natural damage reductions for each armor type:

Damage/Armor Light Medium Large Fortified Boss
Fire 135% 65% 65% 65% 50%
Ice 65% 135% 65% 65% 50%
Lightning 0% 0% 135% 0% 0%
Earth 65% 65% 0% 135% 50%
Guns 65% 65% 100% 65% 100%
Corrosive 65% 65% 65% 65% 135%

These are natural damage reductions (this is seperate from armor reduction).  Each unit's armor reduction is added to this, making it very difficult in levels 20+ to, for example... use a fire tower to kill fortified units.

I've heard many people talk about 'this' strategy being better than 'that'... and on and on.  The bottom line is, I used a few set algorythems to make this game, and it is balanced and designed to use all towers cooperatively.  If you're relying on one tower, or 50 of the same tower, to get you through the game, you won't last.

Enjoy, and thanks for playing,
