1.)Did you have problems obtaining a diagnosis of Endometriosis?

*No, I went to my pediatrician at 15 with my symptoms and he immediately sent me to a GYN.
After 2 years of ruling everything else out, I had a laparoscopy in 9/04 and was diagnosed.

2.)Do you have any family members with Endometriosis?

*I'm not sure about that one. Maybe an aunt, we know
she had a hysterectomy, but we don't know why.

3.)Are you a DES daughter?

*Not that I'm aware of.

4.)Were you every on Birth Control in your lifetime? If so for how long?

*I've been on them for the last 5 years straight.
Currently on the highly controversial Lybrel.

5.)Did you use tampons or pads during your period?

*Tampons, always.

6.)What symptoms do you/did you have, associated with Endometriosis?

*Pain, nausea, Unbelievable pain with intercourse, and more and more PAIN. I was to the point
where at least one day a month I missed school cause I couldn't get out of bed.

7.)Are there any issues you are confused about regarding endometriosis?

*No, I just wish they knew more about it.

8.)Do you know about the Endometriosis Association?

*Yup, found it during a Google search.

9.)What treatments have you tried to alleviate or cure your endometriosis?

*I have had 2 laparoscopies (the first to diagnose and treat and the second to treat).
Birth control. Pain killers (from first Naproxen to most current Lortab which still isn't
helping). Lupron Depot - BIGGEST MISTAKE I EVER MADE. Gained 60+lbs in the 6 months
and got no relief. Plus I had crazy hot flash side effects from it. I would NOT
recommend it, nor would I do it again if I could go back.

10.)Are you aware that taking estrogen replacement after a hysterectomy for endometriosis
can cause any remaining endo growths to continue to
bleed and cause pain, inflammation and scarring?

*I know that having a hysterectomy doesn't always cure the Endo,
but I'm also running out of other options.

11.) Do you have any advice or anything you'd like to share
with other women who have endo?

*No, but please feel free to contact me if they have any questions.
Please note I've gone through all this and I'm only 20 years old. Diagnosed at 17.
