**HRT/NHRT USAGE

What different kinds of hrt/nrht have you tried?

**Elleste Solo 2mg, Livial Tibolone 2.5mg

What problems have you had with hrt/nhrt?

**Tiredness, immense mood swings, gained weight, angry/aggressive at times, joint pains,
pins and needles in arms and legs, lots of headache, my immune system has gone down
the drain - colds, infections every couple of months since my operation.

Has there been any hrt/nhrt you've tried that has worked for you
that you have been using for a MINIMUM of 3 months? If so what?

**I've taken Elleste Solo 2 mg straight after the operation for about 22 months
but because of the above symptoms I started Livial Tibolone 2,5 mg 6 weeks ago.

What different kinds of hrt/nrht have you tried?

**Estratest HS for 7 years and for the last 3 months Nugest Yam Serum

What problems have you had with hrt/nhrt?

**Mood Swings, Anger/Rage, Depression, Anxiety, Low Energy, 70 lbs of Weight Gain,
Muscle & Joint Pain, Lowered Immune System (can't be around anything contagious),
Little to No Sex Drive, Skin Rashes, Sensitivity to Sun Light, Dry Skin, and a never
ending uncountable number of doctors visits with no resolve.

Has there been any hrt/nhrt you've tried that has worked for you
that you have been using for a MINIMUM of 3 months? If so what?

**No, but I'm not going to give up. I'm starting to learn more about Natural HRT's
thanks to great web sites like yours. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
Your web site made me cry because it felt so good to know that other people are
experiencing the same things as myself. All of the doctors that have said or thought
"it's all in your head" can go stuff it where the sun doesn't shine.

I have been using the following combination for approximately
8 weeks and feel like a brand new woman:

1. 2.5 Tri-est estrogen capsules daily;
2. 1/4 teaspoon natural progesterone cream twice daily;
3. 1/4 teaspoon natural testosterone cream twice daily.

Total radical hysterectomy one year ago. Age 41.

**OOPHORECTOMY(removal of the ovaries)

Are you at least six months post op and feeling good?

Have you had any other health problems since the removal of your
ovaries that you did not have before your ovaries were removed?

**Yes, the ones I've mentioned above under the question: problems with your NHRT/HRT.
The thing is, I don't know what is related to the taking of HRT and what is the
after/side effect of having had ovaries and womb removed. I've noticed that whenever
there is a flu or cold going round it hits me very badly. Before the operation I've
not been ill very often at all and now I'm off sick every two to three months.
I can't tell you if it has anything to do with the hysterectomy.

How long has it been since your ovaries were removed?

**2 years in February 2002

Did your doctor tell you about the potential health changes that could occur
with ovarian removal? (severe hormone loss symptoms, other endocrine related illnesses, etc.?)

**Not really, he said that most of the women feel absolutely great after a hysterectomy
and that it will be just a matter of time to find the right HRT
for my body. Well I'm still trying to find the right stuff!!!

Are you at least six months post op and feeling good?

**No, when my son was 10 months old I had to stop breast feeding so they could remove
the first ovary. Then when he was 2 1/2 I had the complete hysterectomy which has been
a little over 7 years ago, then I had surgery again after that because they thought I had
a rare hernia and it turned out to be just more scar tissue.

Have you had any other health problems since the removal of
your ovaries that you did not have before your ovaries were removed?

**Absolutely!

If so what? and how long has it been since your ovaries were removed?

**Mood Swings, Anger/Rage, Depression, Anxiety, Low Energy, 70 lbs of Weight Gain,
Muscle & Joint Pain, Lowered Immune System (can't be around anything contagious),
Little to No Sex Drive, Skin Rashes, Sensitivity to Sun Light, Dry Skin, and a never ending
uncountable number of doctors visits with no resolve. Dizziness, Rosacea, Constipation,
Allergies, Sinus Surgery, and am now having to use a CPAP machine at night because my
snoring as become so loud and disruptive due to being overweight.

It's been 8 years since the first ovary was removed and it's been 7 years and 5 months
since I had the complete hysterectomy which included removal of my last ovary,
fallopian tubes, uterus, and cervix due to endometriosis.

Did your doctor tell you about the potential health changes that could
occur with ovarian removal? (severe hormone loss symptoms, other endocrine related illnesses, etc.?)

**He said I would have to have HRT for the rest of my life and there would be some
weight gain (I repeat some weight gain). He did not tell me there would be
continuous weight gain for the rest of my life.

Are you at least six months post op and feeling good?

*It has been a year and a half since my TAH/BSO and
I'm feeling good although not terribly energetic.

Have you had any other health problems since the removal of your
ovaries that you did not have before your ovaries were removed?

*At age forty I weighed 120lbs, by age fifty I weighed 140lbs, in the first
six months after my surgery I gained twenty-seven pounds, more weight than
I had gained in the entire previous decade.

Did your doctor tell you about the potential health changes that could occur
with ovarian removal? (severe hormone loss symptoms, other endocrine related illnesses, etc.?)

*No, nor was I informed about the increased risks of developing
osteoporosis, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, or Parkinson's disease.

**ENDOMETRIOSIS

If you had a hysterectomy for Endo, were your ovaries removed?

**Yes, both gone

Did you take any form of estrogen after surgery?

**The only tablets were the ones mentioned above.

Did anyone inform you that ERT (estrogen replacement therapy) can reactivate endo?

**No

If you had a hysterectomy for Endo, were your ovaries removed?

**Yes

Did you take any form of estrogen after surgery?

**He had me start taking Estratest HS 6 months prior to surgery and
with no doctor approval I just stopped taking it 3 months ago.

Did anyone inform you that ERT (estrogen replacement therapy) can reactivate endo?

**No
