Fear Me!! Freeza Does Battle With a Third Transformation
Gohan leaps to Piccolo's defense. Gohan launches an energy beam at Freeza, then powers it up to the limit. Freeza is nearly overwhelmed by the force of Gohan's attack, but manages to push back hard enough to return it. Faced with such power, Freeza decides to perform his final transformation. Vegeta, astounded by the level of power Gohan displayed, feels that Gohan is coming very close to becoming a Super Saiyan. Vegeta orders Kuririn to attack him hard enough to leave him near death. After one more recovery, Vegeta is certain he will be a Super Saiyan himself. Kuririn refuses at first, but as Freeza's Ki continues to rise, finally relents, and blasts Vegeta through his chest. Dende refuses to heal Vegeta, since he was responsible for killing so many Namekians, and heals Piccolo instead. Freeza sees Dende heal Piccolo, and realizes that he is responsible for everyone's miraculous recoveries. At Piccolo's request, Dende also heals Vegeta, who experiences yet another power-up. An ungrateful Vegeta prepares to take on Freeza, who finishes his final transformation in a cloud of smoke.
The Death of Dende — Come Forward, Wide-Open, Full-On Power
Freeza has completed his final transformation.
Even before resuming the battle, Piccolo and the others feel his terror. In an instant, Freeza's fingertip flashes. Before anyone can react, Freeza's blast hits Dende, killing him instantly. Freeza knew of Dende's healing powers, and killed him to keep anyone else from being healed. Piccolo, Gohan and Kuririn are unable to affect Freeza with any of their attacks. Vegeta, feels he is up to the challenge. After all, by now, he is certain to be a Super Saiyan. However, Freeza is so fast in this stage that Vegeta is unable even to keep up with him!
How I've Waited for this Moment!!! Son Goku Recovered
Not even the explosive power acheived by Vegeta is enough to take on Freeza. However, Vegeta refuses to give up, confident that as a Super Saiyan, he unable to be defeated. Freeza easily dodges all of Vegeta's attacks. Vegeta launches a full-power energy blast at Freeza, who simply kicks it out of the way. Force to realize his own fear and hoplessness, Vegeta begins to tremble and weep. Freeza begins to attack Vegeta. All Piccolo, Gohan and Kuririn can do is watch Freeza lay into Vegeta. As Freeza prepares to deliver the final blow to Vegeta, Goku completes his recovery in the rejuvenation tank!
No...!! Vegeta, Pride of the Saiyans, Dies
Freeza is about to finish Vegeta off when Goku arrives at the scene! Freeza recognizes Goku as resembling the Saiyan Burdock, who led a rebellion against Freeza many years ago resulting in the destruction of Planet Vegeta. Goku is the son of Burdock. Vegeta claims that Kakarrot is a Super Saiyan, and Freeza immediately runs through Vegeta's heart with one of his fingertip blasts. Vegeta begs Kakarrot to avenge the entire Saiyan race by defeating Freeza by his Saiyan hand, then dies. Moved by Vegeta's last request, Goku buries him in a shallow grave, sharing in the pride Vegeta felt in his Saiyan heritage, then turns to challenge Freeza.
The Curtain Rises Over the Ultimate Battle!! I Am Going to Defeat You
Piccolo, Gohan and Kuririn realize how intense the battle before them is about to become, and leave the area for safer grounds. Goku rushes at Freeza, and the battle begins in earnest. As the two warriors size each other up, Freeza discovers that there really is something different about Goku from the other Saiyans. As the two fight, volcanic eruptions occur around them, a result of the energy being released. The two combatants raise the level of severity of their attacks with each consecutive blow.
The Two Superpowers Collide! A Fistfight Where Both Turn Serious
On Earth, Chichi is causing quite a scene over travelling to Namek to rescue Gohan. As their battle progresses, Goku realizes that Freeza does not know how to sense an opponent's Ki. Underwater, Goku launches two Kamehame Ha decoy blasts at Freeza, then delivers a punishing kick as Freeza avoids them. However, Freeza is utterly unfazed by the exchange. Freeza traps Goku in an energy bubble such that he cannot move, then proceeds to knock him around like a volleyball. Just as the bubble explodes, Goku manages to escape its destruction at high speed.
Freeza's Terrible Declaration! I Will Defeat You Without Using My Hands
Freeza, certain that he possesses the upper hand, announces to Goku that he won't even use his hands to fight him. On Earth, the spaceship that Chichi is planning to take to Namek proceeds with its fueling. The frog that Ginyu has become meets up with Bulma. Happy for the companionship, she invents a small translator device and straps it on. Given a means of speaking again, Ginyu immediately performs his Body Change with Bulma! Freeza attacks Goku using his tail. Unable to get his hands free, Goku counterattacks by biting Freeza! Reflexively, Freeza swats Goku away, and Goku chides him about saying he would not use his hands. Goku warns Freeza that he is getting too carried away with himself, and that leaves him more and more vulnerable to attack.
That Was No Idle Boast!! Son Goku, an Intrepid, Swell Guy
Freeza asks Goku if he wouldn't enjoy becoming his new second-in-command. Naturally, Goku turns Freeza down. Freeza then brags that even if Goku were to use all his remaining power, Freeza would only require fifty percent of his own power to defeat him. Goku has the feeling that what Freeza said is probably true. Goku has been using a tenth-power Kaio-Ken, and it has not been enough to beat Freeza. On Earth, the launch of Chichi's spaceship meets with a misfire. Ginyu, using Bulma's body, arrives at the spot where Piccolo, Gohan and Kuririn are watching the battle. They realize that there is something not quite all there about Bulma.
Showdown!! The Embodiment of Flame in a 20X Kaio-ken Kamehame-Ha
Ginyu, in Bulma's body, tries to Body Change with Piccolo. Gohan, realizing what is happening, tosses the frog-turned-Bulma between Ginyu and Piccolo just in time! Ginyu returns to the frog body, and Bulma returns to her own body. Freeza, in an incredible display of his power, releases energy from his fingertip like a whip. The resulting energy cuts a deep, narrow groove into the planet for as far as the eye can see. The battle continues, and Goku loses more and more ground against Freeza. Goku sees the faces of all his friends pass before him, and he is spurred on to protect them. Goku raises himself to an incredible twentieth-level Kaio-Ken, and with everything he has, blasts Freeza with a Kamehame Ha. However, when the smoke clears, Goku sees that not even his best shot was enough to inflict any appreciable damage on Freeza.
A Super-Huge Genki Dama — I'm Playing My Last Card!!
Goku's 20X Kaio-Ken-powered Kamehame Ha did little more than bruise Freeza. Even so, Freeza is humiliated that a Saiyan could cause such damage, and grows angry at Goku. Freeza goes with that angry feeling, and starts to pound on Goku. Goku doesn't even have power left to hit back. On Kaio's World, the late members of the Ginyu Special Corps arrive. They perform one of their fighting poses, and Yamucha and the others don't quite know what to think. After being able only to block against Freeza, Goku raises both arms above his head. High in the sky above Goku, an enormous Genki Dama begins to form
Keep the Chance Alive!! Piccolo's Suicide Support Strike
Goku is pulling in energy not only from the life on Namek, but from other nearby star systems as well. As a result, it is taking quite a while for him to complete the Genki Dama. If Freeza realizes what Goku is doing, all hope is lost. On Kaio's World, ReaCoom and the others test the strength of their techniques. They discover that being dead hasn't taken any toll on their abilities, which overjoys ReaCoom. Piccolo pools Kuririn and Gohan's remaining energy into his own. A cautious Freeza continues to attack an unflinching Goku, and tries to determine what he is up to. Freeza sees the light the Genki Dama is producing reflected in the waters of a lake Goku has fallen into. Freeza is amazed at the amount of energy Goku has been able to collect for use against him, and moves to finish Goku off. Before Freeza can act, Piccolo connects with a flying kick to the side of Freeza's head, sending him tumbling into the distance!
The Incredible Destructive Force of the Genki Dama!! Who Will Survive!?
Piccolo takes on Freeza in order to buy enough time for Goku to finish the Genki Dama, but is no match for Freeza's power. On Kaio's World, Yamucha, Tenshinhan and Chaozu fight against the Ginyu Special Corps members. A credit to Kaio-sama's training, the Z team is able to hold their ground against the Corps. Kuririn and Gohan use what little of their own energy remains to blast Freeza, further distracting him. Having had quite enough, Freeza decides to destroy the planet Namek altogether. Before Freeza can complete his action, however, Goku finally finishes the Genki Dama and throws it at Freeza. Freeza tries to deflect the giant sphere, but is quickly overwhelmed by the sheer power of it. Freeza is swallowed up in a giant explosion as the Genki Dama detonates.
Transformed At Last!! Son Goku, the Legendary Super Saiyan
Freeza is no where to be found. On Kaio's World, the Z Team is also victorious over the Special Corps members. ReaCoom, Ghurd, Jheese and Butta are kicked off the planet, and fall into Hell. Delighted in their victory, Goku and the others prepare to return to Earth. Suddenly, Freeza appears! Not even the giant Genki Dama was enough to defeat Freeza. Freeza shoots Piccolo through the right side of his chest, critically injuring him. Using his telekinesis, Freeza raises Kuririn up several dozen meters into the air. As Kuririn shouts Goku's name, Freeza causes Kuririn's body to explode from the inside out. At the sight of the death of his best friend, Goku erupts with fierce anger. As that anger grows past anything Goku can control, an enormous Ki envelops him, and his body begins to transform. Goku becomes a legendary Super Saiyan!
An Explosion of Anger!! Goku, Avenge Everyone's Deaths
Having become a Super Saiyan, Goku instructs Gohan to take Piccolo back to the Capsule Corporation spaceship and return to Earth. Gohan is convinced that his father will get back to Earth on his own, and leaves with Piccolo. As Freeza moves to attack Gohan, Goku faces Freeza and gives in to his anger. Freeza is surprised by the amount of power the supposedly exhausted Goku still possesses. Freeza boasts that even though Goku seems to have actually become a Super Saiyan, he can still defeat him. Freeza shoots his fingertip blasts at Goku, the same kind that nearly finished off Piccolo, but Goku is able to dodge every last one. Goku then allows himself to be hit by one of the blasts on purpose, and comes through unscathed! It seems that no one will be able to stop Goku now that he has gotten started.
The Destruction of Planet Namek!? A Demonic Flash Penetrates the Ground
Realizing that Goku has indeed become a Super Saiyan, Freeza grows furious at the shame he is being put through. Gohan and Piccolo arrive at Goku's ship, and Gohan begins preparations to lift off. Fearing that Goku may be strong enough to defeat him, Freeza claims that he would rather die by his own hand, and sends a blast of energy straight to the planet's core, enough to destroy the planet! Witnessing this, Kaio-sama can only gape in disbelief. On Earth, Kami-sama telepathically contacts Kaio-sama to let him know that the Dragonballs are assembled and that he would soon be wishing his pupils back to life. Kaio-sama realizes that if Kami is alive to deliver this message, then Piccolo must have survived as well. The planet Namek survived Freeza's blast, but just barely. The planet's core has been obliterated, and the planet has roughly five minutes remaining before it collapses upon itself and really is destroyed
I Am Going To Win... Risking Survival, A Final Attack
Freeza begins to concentrate his Ki in order to attain his full power. Kaio-sama contacts Goku, telling him that now is his chance to defeat Freeza. Goku tells Kaio-sama that he is going to let Freeza power up to 100% of his abilities, and then defeat him to avenge Kuririn's death. Goku refrains from attacking while Freeza powers up. Gohan finds Bulma and takes her to the waiting space ship. Bulma is overjoyed that she will finally be able to return to Earth, but is a little unsure about spending a week in space with the injured Piccolo. Having attained his full power, Freeza attacks Goku hard and fast, seemingly overwhelming him. Freeza boasts to Goku that he is just getting warmed up for this power level. Goku boasts back that if that was the best Freeza had, he would have been disappointed.
Sheng Long, Conduct Yourself Through Space!! The Time of Namek's Destruction Draws Near
Goku's battle with Freeza is partially to buy enough time for Gohan and the others to clear the planet before it explodes. On Earth, Mister Popo stands ready with the assembled Dragonballs. As Kami-sama prepares to summon Sheng Long, Kaio-sama, who is still in telepathic contact, is struck with an idea how to use the Dragonballs. Using Earth's Dragonballs, Kami would wish everyone who had been killed by Freeza's forces back to life. Assuming the Grand Elder's life had been shortened somewhat by the distress caused by Freeza's actions, he too would be brought back to life, however briefly. With the Grand Elder alive, Polunga, the Namek version of Sheng Long, would also reappear, with one wish remaining to grant. Using that wish, everyone but Freeza could be teleported off of Namek to Earth before Namek is destroyed. Yamucha and Tenshinhan agree to wait until the next time the dragon is available to be wished back to life. Mister Popo and Kami-sama summon Sheng Long, hopeful that Kaio-sama's plan will work.
I am Son Goku's Son!! Gohan Returns to the Battlefield
Sheng Long listens Mister Popo's request, but offers no guarantees as to whether or not the wish will be effective so far away. Sheng Long grants the wish, but it will take some time before the effect reaches Planet Namek. Goku receives a stunning blow from Freeza, burying him deep into the ground. Sensing his father in trouble, Gohan takes off for the area where the fight is happening to take his place. Gohan realizes he will not be able to defeat Freeza on his own, but if he can keep him occupied until the planet explodes, that may be enough to finish him. Gohan is no match for Freeza, however, and is easily beaten. Just as Freeza is about to deliver the finishing blow to Gohan, Goku returns to the scene and rescues him. All over Namek, the dead begin to rise from their graves. The Grand Elder is among those who have been wished back to life!
I'm Staying On This Planet!! A Final Wish Towards Victory
Kaio-sama telepathically contacts the Grand Elder, instructing him how to use the final wish.. Goku manages to intercept the telepathic transmission and begs Kaio-sama to let him remain on Namek with Freeza so they can finish their fight. Amazed by the strength of his will, Kaio-sama finds himself unable to resist Goku's plea, and finally relents. Elsewhere, Dende and Vegeta find themselves suddenly alive once again. Following the Grand Elder's telepathic instructions, Dende rushes to the dragon's side to make the final wish. However, Freeza also discovers the dragon, and is able to reach it first! Freeza commands the dragon to make him eternally young. Dende completes the wish to transport everyone else back to Earth. Because Freeza did not speak in the Namekian language, the dragon ignored his wish. It instead granted Dende's, which was made in the proper form. Kaio-sama's plan succeeds, and everyone but Goku and Freeza are transported to Earth.
Let's Get It On!! Two Remain On a Vanishing Planet
Two minutes remain until the planet Namek explodes. Goku and Freeza engage in the fiercest of battles to determine which of them is stronger. On Earth, the newly-arrived Gohan and the others learn from the Grand Elder that it was Goku's wish that he be allowed to stay behind. Gohan and Bulma are stunned that Goku would remain to fight. Not even Piccolo is able to hide the disgust he feels in Goku's decision. Vegeta, on the other hand, laughs that if the two don't kill each other first, the planet's explosion certainly will finish them off, and he will automatically become the strongest in the universe by default. As Gohan prays for his father's safe return, one minute remains to the destruction of Namek.
Pathos of Freeza! Once He Starts Shaking, He's Unstoppable
At the sight of Goku fighting toe-to-toe with Freeza, Kaio-sama becomes retrospective of the battles Goku has been in. On Earth, Bulma wishes on some leaves that Goku will be able to make it back home safely, but the ritual ends in an ominous fashion. Freeza finally begins to give ground against Goku. Fighting at his full power, the strain on Freeza's Ki is intense, and its level begins to shrink somewhat. Knowing that he had defeated Freeza's pride, Goku powers down, claiming he was satisfied that at this rate, if the fight went the distance, he would surely be the victor. However, Freeza is not about to concede, and continues his attack!
Goku's Declaration of Victory!! As Freeza Destroys Himself
Goku dodges Freeza's attack. Freeza seethes at the level of surety Goku has that he has won the battle. On Earth, Vegeta recalls the events that occured while he was still serving Freeza. Vegeta is overjoyed at the prospect of Goku and Freeza eliminating each other, leaving him the strongest in the universe. Gohan responds to Vegeta that he is certain his father will make it back to Earth, and Vegeta roughs Gohan up. Freeza generates a pair of razor-thin energy discs and sends them after Goku. Goku manages to evade the pursuing discs while knocking Freeza directly into their path. As Goku yells at Freeza to move out of the way, one of the discs passes through him, cleanly slicing him in two at the waist. Goku turns and walks away, leaving Freeza to his fate. Freeza begs Goku to help save his life, and Goku, though infuriated by the requests, grants Freeza some of his remaining energy.
Freeza Defeated!! A Single Blast Packed With A Totality of Rage
The Grand Elder's lifetime reaches its natural end. He chooses Muri, one of the village elders, to succeed him as Grand Elder, entrusts him with the Dragonballs, and passes away. Gohan and Dende begin talking about the Dragonballs, which leads Gohan to discover that Namek's Dragonballs are capable of resurrecting and individual more than once. Gohan is overjoyed, since this means that it will be possible to bring Kuririn back to life once again. On Namek, Goku has decisively won his battle with Freeza, and begins to walk away. Freeza is unable to accept this defeat, and with the last of his energy, launches a great blast toward Goku as he departs. Goku turns toward Freeza, curses him, and counters with an even greater blast that utterly overwhelms Freeza and makes his victory complete.
Planet Namek's Great Explosion!! Goku Disappears into Space
The explosion of the planet Namek is only seconds away! Goku boards Freeza's spaceship and tries to get it to launch, but is unable to get it to work. The spaceship falls into a fissure where it is swallowed up by molten lava, ensuring it will never fly again. Goku curses, and the planet finally explodes, with Goku still on it. Kaio-sama witnesses everything, and relates Goku's fate to Yamucha and the others. Yamucha speaks through Kaio-sama to Bulma, telling her the outcome of the events on Namek. Bulma remains hopeful, since the Namekian Dragonballs appear to be able to bring Goku back anyhow. Unfortunately, Goku and Kuririn, if wished back to life, will be resurrected on Planet Namek. Since Namek no longer exists as a planet, Goku and Kuririn would be resurrected into the vacuum of space, where they would surely die again moments later.
Son Goku Survived - The Z Warriors All Resurrected
Since Kuririn and Goku died on planet Namek, that is where they will reappear when wished back to life.
However, because the planet no longer exists as such, they will be resurrected into the vacuum of space, where they will certainly die moments later.
Vegeta proposes that they wish Goku and Kuririn's spirits back to Earth before attempting to wish them back to life, so that they will be resurrected on Earth instead. Bulma arranges to have the surviving Namekians and Vegeta stay with her at the Capsule Corporation in the meantime. 120 days later, the Namekian Dragonballs become reactivated. With Dende acting as interpreter, Bulma wishes Goku and Kuririn's spirits back to Earth. Polunga relocates Kuririn, but says he is unable to move Goku's spirit because he is still alive. Kuririn is wished back to life with the second wish, apparantly no worse for wear. Goku is wished back to Earth with the third wish. However, Polunga says that Goku has refused the offer, saying he will return on his own shortly. The third wish is changed to return Yamucha to life, and despite all established resurrection protocol, he instantly appears in a nearby fountain. Four months later, after the Namekian Dragonballs are restored again, Tenshinhan and Chaozu are wished back to lifatime. With the third wish, the Namekians transport themselves to a new planet, which they begin to settle.
