I sat in prayer one day, really reaching out to the Lord. I tend to get very personal when I speak to Him. He likes it that way. A child would, after all, call Him daddy and feel comfortable telling Him anything that comes to mind.

We were at a point in our lives where we had nothing BUT HIM to hold on to. He had shown us the path he had for us but there seemed no way to walk it, at least in the natural. That's when we began to learn so much about praise.

Anyway, he spoke to me as I sat on the couch and prayed. I suppose you could classify it as a vision because I could see it, as plain as I see this monitor before me now. I had been talking to him about how in the world we could ever get where He said He wanted us to go when we barely had enough money to keep a roof over our and food on the table. Finally, I grew quiet and listened. Boy did He answer me! In my mind's eye, I saw a huge mountain range. He led me up a path to the very top. There was a deep chasm in front of me and another peak across the chasm. The path I had followed ended at the precipice and continued on the other side. This was the path we were to walk . He said to me:

"Will you mount up with wings as eagles? or will you walk ALL THE WAY down this side and then struggle ALL THE WAY back up the other side???"

It took a few moments for His question to sink in. Was I going to believe Him, begin rejoicing and planning to walk the path he set before us? Or was I going to look at what was in front of me and panic? Would I take the long way down, all the way across and all the way up and then, possibly, get there late??? The choice was mine. And he let me know that he would walk with me no matter which way I chose.

Will you mount up with wings as eagles and fly across the chasm you're faced with right now? Will you dare to believe that, when God sets your feet on His path, he also provides everything you'll need to walk it successfully????

Only He can minister this truth to your heart. Will you dare to let Him?

"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee" Isaiah 26: 3

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41: 10

How can we miss with promises like that????

The Lord told me something once and I've never forgotten it. He said:

"I walk before you to clear your path. I walk behind you to protect you from the enemy's sneak attacks. And I walk beside you, because I'm your friend!"

So you see, if you're a child of the King, you're surrounded. Nothing can get at you. Nothing can knock you off of the path. The enemy can yell and scream and accuse and lie.....but that's all he can do. He can't get through that defense that's all around you.

It's like having a big bumble bee buzzing around your head. You duck and jump and get out of his way a couple of times and then, the last time he buzzes you, you get a good look at the old boy. And you see he has NO STINGER!!! Now who in the world is afraid of a bumble bee with no stinger??? Well, the enemy of our souls lost his stinger the moment Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Father, in the throne room! In fact, when Jesus handed the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven to his father that day, I'll bet there was, tucked away in that keyring somewhere, a little, tiny, inconsequential bee stinger.

Will you dare???
