UPDATE 6/30/99 This morning at 4:30, while driving from Miami to Ft.Pierce, I lost control of my car on an entrance ramp to the Palmetto X-way here in Miami. The roads were slick from the ton of rain we were getting....my car went into oversteer, I couldnt control it and went into a gaurdrail at appx 45 mph. I only suffered some minor air bag burns on my forearms...I thank God I was ok. I miss my car sooo much....I have never gotten soo many compliments on that car of my mine....it was definitely a show stopper. The legacy is gone....and I will forever miss it. I had a BLAST with and in that car....I can only look back with fond memories on the good times my baby brought me. May it rest in peace. The insurance adjuster is supposed to look at it today....I think its totaled....what do u think? DRIVE SAFELY ! NORM JULY 10th, 1999 <<<@#@# UPDATE >>>@#@# Proud owner of a brand spanking new 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24. Got the car fully loaded (as Cavaliers go). I did not opt for the 5 speed manual because it didn't offer the traction control feature. Only the automatic offered the traction control...which I got. The color is a brand new color for 99 (deja-vu...the color of the camaro was brand new for 98) which is Fern Green metallic. This car is QUICK....the engine is GM's 2.4 twin cam 16 valve producing 150 Hp and 155 lbs/ft of torque...shy from what the camaro put out. BUT, you have to remember that this car is much lighter than the camaro (about 1,000 lbs), thus making it a very quick and AGILE car.....this car is much more nimble and more fun to play with through the turns than the camaro was. All in all....I am very impressed with my new Z24....I didnt think it was this fun to drive...I am having a blast while at the same time...trying to drive slower. No mods at this time....future mods include Weapon R cold air intake, and RK sport dual exhaust and booyyyy do I miss the monsoon system in the camaro...the system in the Z is a good system buck lacks alot of amplification.....so I need to upgrade it in the future. I have plans for this car.....check back once in a while.
