News & TV Appearances!!

FEBRUARY 25, 1999----Well, our Boys lost the Best New Artist Grammy last night to Lauryn Hill, but they presented, and they looked excellent! Brian's wearing his hair differently these days, and it's getting longer! AJ had this kooky white outfit on (THAT'S our AJ...always got to be different!), Nick & Kevin looked awesome, and Howie looked gorgeous as usual, although his facial hair was a bit TOO dark!! But they looked great, and they were winners to us last night!!

FEBRUARY 20, 1999----Nothing new here, except to say HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY, BRIAN THOMAS LITTRELL!! We love you!!

FEBRUARY 9, 1999----Well, the Pay-Per-View concert was DEFINITELY worth the $19.95 that we paid to see it!! The show itself was great, and the guys looked and sounded great!! One of the highlights was the little staged fight between Howie & Tim (from the BSB band) before Quit Playing Games, about how to play the song....the band ended up walking offstage and letting the Boys play it themselves! Any way....The new cd release date HAS been officially released, and it's not going to be on March 23, as rumoured....it's going to be on May 18, and it's going to be called, Millennium, like A.J. suggested when he was on YTV's Hit List with Howie back in September of 1998....to see the actual news article, go here: Backstreet Bulletin
Also....apparently, there's talk of a duet between the BSB and Foxy Brown....Howie & Foxy Brown were spotted talking at a Foxy Brown party, and according to MTV, it looks like there may be a duet in the works between the BSB and Foxy! Stay tuned!!

JANUARY 28, 1999----HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY NICKOLAS GENE CARTER!! WE LOVE YOU!! Okay, here's the news....The Boys appeared at the NHL All-Stars Game last Sunday (the 24), and they sang the National Anthem....they sounded and looked greater than always!! When A.J. took off his baseball cap for the national anthem, his hair looked longer in the back, so maybe he's growing his hair out! Any way, when the Boys came out, the crowd started BOOING (I have NO idea why--maybe it was the jerseys that they had on: Nick--Tampa Bay Lightning, Kevin--Montreal Canadiens, Brian--New York Rangers, Howie--Toronto Maple Leafs, and A.J.--Pittsburgh Penguins)! Also....for all of you who are interested in their new cd, it is RUMOURED (not confirmed yet, but RUMOURED) that the release date on the new cd will be on March 23!!

JANUARY 21, 1999----This morning, there was a VERY special guest appearance on The View....at the top of the show, it was announced that one of the Backstreet Boys was going to be on the show, giving a male's point of view on being a sex symbol....but they wouldn't say who it was!! Finally, near the end of the show, who else came out, but Howie D.!! It was great!! He brought his sister, Pollyanna, along with him (and it showed her on-camera....she's pretty!), and he talked about how he brings her along on double dates and stuff, and also the down side of not being able to have a relationship!! He looked absolutely WONDERFUL, but sounded like he had a bit of a cold!! It was still good, though!! Also, the Grammy Awards nominations were announced last week in New York, and the Boys are up for an award (not sure which one, though....the Official site has more details....go to our links page to get there!)....so be sure to watch the Grammy's!! And be sure to check out the Britney Spears cd....at the end of Track 11, she gives a sneak preview of three songs from the NEW BSB cd, which will be released in March or April!!

JANUARY 12, 1999----Well, last night the Boys walked away from the American Music Awards empty-handed, but they came up winners with the fans, coming up as the 4th highest attendance at a concert in 1998....Congrats, Boys!! We love you, and you'll ALWAYS be winners with us!! In the meantime, the Boys put on a KILLER performance, first doing a concert-like scene of All I Have To Give, and in the middle of the song, they stopped and started running away....fans came rushing after them, and Kevin, Nick, & A.J. looked like they were about to jump off a building (they came down from above the screen), and Howie & Brian, since they're afraid of heights, went through a door and came out from the side of the stage! They sang Everybody, and it was GREAT!!!
