Readers Bark Back…

Hi,
My name is Joe Purkhiser and I am one of the owners of the Judges List on
the internet. Our subscribers are judges from all over the world.
Our purpose is to discuss topics of interest and importance to judges.
Quite frequently the conversations get quite interesting, not to mention
passionate. To the point, we are always looking for good material to spark
debate. You were kind enough to send me a copy of your brand new
Australian Terrier Journal, which I appreciate very much. You are going to have
much success. Anyway, in this issue there is an article by David White simply
entitled, "The Australian Terrier" which I would like to have permission to
reprint to our list. I will, of course, give full attribution to your Journal
and Mr. White. At my last count, we had 360 subscribers and increasing every day
So you can see that it will get wide attention. If you can see your way clear
to grant us permission, we will be grateful.

Best Regards,
Joe Purkhiser, AKC Judge

Wow! You've got a great breed magazine there! I'm very impressed.
The main purpose of our newsletter is to publish race results.
Again, I compliment you on your excellent magazine.
Good luck and keep up the great work.

Congratulations on the new AT Journal - a great start.
Fiona Curtin showed me her copy, and we found it very interesting.

Received the Journal today, and all I can say is WOW!
It's tremendous, fantastic, and wonderful. Lots of
news for me to print over here. I'm glad you liked the
first issue of the "Times" and hope you find articles
also to use in your Journal.

Just a quickie to let you know the Journal arrived.
It looks fabulous. Really!!! And Jimmy just loved
looking at his picture in the magazine!!! My friend
Linda was here when it arrived and she loved it too
I have an offer for you. Would you like to have a
proof-reader - just to check last typing and grammar
- although I don't recall seeing anything much needed
grammar wise.. Anyway, sometimes that extra set of eyes
can be a help, so if you'd like to have a proofer,
I'd be happy to do it. Either way, let me know if
you'd like the help. I was truly bowled over by
how beautiful the Journal is!

WOWWWWW, what a great job you have done on the premier issue of the
Australian Terrier Journal. It's fantastic! The quality of the pictures
was awesome! The color photos reproduced perfectly, but the black and
whites are so clean and clear. I also enjoyed the articles. I sat down
as soon as I had time and read every one. Wonderful job! I enjoyed the fact
that the first cover and the inside story by Marge Reignier was on
Ch. Crestwoods Crackerjack - a great dog by any standard. It was at
Waukesha I had the honor of giving him his first Group win.
A few days later a note came from Ed Jenner saying "your Aussies went all
the way to BIS". From the time that I first saw him in the breed that day I
thought this dog was something very special. In the years that followed I
think I probably judged "Jack" 2-3 more times and he always won the breed.
His kind are long remembered for they leave the judge with the unmistakable
feeling of having dealt with greatness. It only happens a few times in a
lifetime. Thanks for the memories and best wishes for your extraordinary
journal.

Sincerely,
Ken McDermott - AKC Judge
