Peter Schmeichel is born in the town Gladsaxe in the east of Jylland, he also played in the football team when he was a child. When the time in Gladsaxe was over he started to play in Hvidovre. After some years he was sold to the big club Brondby in the Danish Superleague. When he played for Brondby did he got a chance to move to Manchester United and he took it. Manchester United needed a new goalkeeper after Jim Leighton who had moved to Scotland and played for an another team. So Alex Ferguson chanced and brought Peter Schmeichel from Brondby for £550 000 in August 1991 and did debut for his club August 15th 1992. Even if he wasn’t so famous, did he prove the world that he was! Today he is one of the world’s best goalkeepers. And he easily take the place as 1st choose goalkeeper in Manchester United. Schmeichel are the 1st choose in Denmark’s international team too.
Peter’s contract ends in 2001 and he saying that he will try to play as far as that. He is with that time 37 years old then but he doesn’t care.
