Margaret Bardolph
MARGARET4 BARDOLF (Thomas3, Hugh2, William1), daughter of (3) Thomas3, 2nd Lord Bardolf and Agnes, was born circa 1345, and died between 1345 and 1430. She married before 1334, (AD-8) ADAM DE WELLE, 3RD LORD WELLES[6], son of (AD-7) Adam, 1st Lord Welles and (MY-2) Joan (ENGAINE), who was born on 22 July 1304[7, 8], and died in Feb. 1344/5 Richardson's "Plantagenet Ancestry" states that John Bardolf and Elizabeth Damory had one son, William, and two daughters, Isabel and Agnes. (No Margaret) Burke's Extinct Peerage reports that Margaret was daughter of John, (3rd) Lord Bardolf. TCP reports that that John Bardolf was one of Adam's son John's godparents. The dates certainly make it more likely that, as separately suggested by the Complete Peerage, the 2nd Lord Bardolf was Margaret's father rather than the 3rd Lord.] Child: Adam de WELLE, 3rd Lord Welles Margaret married Adam de Welle, son of Adam de Welle and Joan Engaine, about 1323. (Adam de Welle was born on 22 Jul 1304 and died on 28 Feb 1345.) |
