NOTE - The history of this line leaves a number of questions unanswerd. Who was Philip Hill of Barbados? what happened to Ann Hill, wife of Peter Tallman? After the divorce did she marry Thomas Durfee? Was he some years her junior? Was Robert Durfee her son?

When G. Andrews Moriarty wrote that Henry Tallman of Schleswig-Holstein was the probable father of Peter Tallman of Hamburg, Barbadoes and RI, he presented no direct evidence, listing only dates of christenings for Peter's two supposed sisters in the parish of St. Nicholas, but none for Peter himself. Dorothy S. Hadlock, who in 1972 resided at 28 North State Street, Apt. 13, Salt Lake City UT, had left several years previously some charts in the library of The Genealogical Society there from the data which is given here. She cited the city archives of Antwerp, the Hamburg State Achinves and Prof. Dr. Hans Kellinghusen as her sources. The details must be subjected to a process of confirmation as Mrs. Hadlock did not list the parishes where christenings took place and did not identify clearly the sources for each bit of data. Thus the materials presented below are given provisionally, and with reservations, although the data from Hamburg has been checked with positive initial results.

Attempts to contact Mrs. Hadlock, Dr. Kellinghusen and others involved in the research were unsuccessful. Dr. Kellinghusen did about 1970, according to Dr. Loose, Oberarchivrat of the Staatarchiv Hamburg. Mrs. Hadlock stated that a Dutch genealogist, William Zweers, who was a resident of Salt Lake City, was the person who corresponded with Dr. Kellinghusen and others; however, Mr. Zweers was not in Utah in 1976.
