!BIRTH: DEATH: MARRIAGE: Witnessed a charter as Earl of Angus (simply) 22 Apr 1231, and is called Earl of Angus and Caithness in 1232, most probably from having the last named Earldom in the ward. He married Mary, daughter and h. of Sir Humphrey Berkeley. Malcolm was living in 1237, when he took part in the Convention of York, but died bef. 1242.: The Complete Peerage of England,

Maol Choluim of Angus, ruled roughly 1214 - 1240, is the fifth attested post-10th century Mormaer of Angus, and the last Gaelic ruler of that province. His daughter married John Comyn (d. 1242) and Gilbert de Umfraville, and when Maol Choluim died without an heir in, probably about 1240, the Mormaership passed to his French successors.
