Job history ... A collection of some very unusual jobs and the reasons for the demise of those jobs. |
My first job was working in an orange juice factory, but I got canned because I couldn't concentrate plus they had frozen assets so they squeezed me out. They were a seedy bunch anyway. I worked in the woods as a lumberjack, but I just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the axe. I saw it comimg though when they gave me the job cut. I needed some pocket money so I tried to be a tailor. The company was hanging on a thread, but it seamed that I just wasn't suited for it even though I had vested rights. I guess I didn't push the right buttons. It was a sew-sew job anyway where I felt hemmed in. I tried working in a muffler factory but it was under handed, noisy and exhausting work. I just couldn't work under those conditions. I worked a job in a shoe factory owned by James, it was called "The Jim Shoe Company". I tried but I just wasn't in-step and didn't fit and James thought I was a real heel and a loafer. He gave me a string of tongue lashings and gave me the boot. I became a professional fisherman, but discovered that I couldn't live on my net income. The pay was low scale anyway. I just didn't have any porpoise there and the pay was only a fin an hour. I managed to get a good job working for a pool maintenance company, but the work was just too draining and had my brain swimming so they filtered me out. The company took a dive later. So then I got a job in a fitnesss center, but they said I wasn't fit for the job and didn't hold my weight so my boss exercised his right to drop me and muscled me out. He was a dumb bell anyway so I just went to the bar. I finally got a job as a historian until I realized there was no future in it. Besides, I had no seniority and there was no back pay. That happened a very long time ago. I got a job once in a bubble gum factory but I lost that too when I got chewed out. It was a sticky situation where I was on the bubble. The job really blowed. One of the best jobs I had was in a watch factory where I just sat around all day and made faces, But that was short lived when the boss got ticked off at me. I didn't spend a whole lot of time there. They didn't even give me a second chance. It was just a matter of time before they finally took me off the clock and I wound up finally counting the minutes before they really ticked me off. I worked in a automobile plant were they couldn't a-Ford me. They thought I was a hood without motor skills so I got bumped and they drove me out. I worked in a casino for awhile until they couldn't deal with me anymore. It was a big gamble and the job was the pits. The boss was a real card and shuffled his employees around. I worked in a ice factory until they put on a hiring freeze and kicked me out of my cube. I was an officer in the Army until there was a Major cut back. I worked for an air cargo company until they dropped me. It was a very plane job and I was propelled out. I worked for a nickel dime operation but there wasn't much money in it. I made it through the first quarter though and stacked up to their expectations. They were looking for a change to coin a phrase. I worked on a cruise ship until I got a stern warning snd they docked my pay, so I had to take a bow out. I didn't even sea it coming. I worked for an elevator company and it certainly had its ups and downs. The company eventually closed its doors and that really floored me. I worked at a chalk board company until I saw the handwriting on the wall. I guess I was slated to be erased because I didn't have enough schooling. I worked for a soccer ball company for awhile until I was kicked out when I didn't make my goal of net income. I worked for a floor covering company and I was on a roll until I got pulled on the carpet and got shagged. I worked for a pretzel company but I needed a new twist. The boss was an old salt. I worked for a lawn maintenance compay once but I got clipped because the business wasn't growing and they had to trim back. I worked for a keychain flashlight manufacturing company but I quit because the pay was a little light and I just didn't shine. I worked for a safe company but it wasn't all what it was cracked up to be. They were very alarmed when I left. I was a barber for awhile but it was a part-time job and I just couldn't cut it besides it wasn't a permanent position. I worked for a famous margarine company once working on spread sheets but I left for a butter job. Then I tried to be a chef. I figured it would add a little spice to my life but I just didn't have the thyme. The boss was really steamed when I left. I attempted to be a deli worker, but any way I sliced it, I couldn't cut the mustard and my boss was full of bologna. My best job was being a musician, but eventually I found I wasn't noteworthy enough and all that jazz. I tried to be archeologist but my career was in ruins. They really shoveled the dirt and I always got the brush off. I found out later that it was just a pyramid scheme anyway. I studied a long time to become a doctor, but I didn't have any patience so I just nursed it for awhile. My last job was working at Starbucks, but I had to quit because it was always the same old grind and there was trouble brewing in the office and it just wasn't my cup of tea. |
