Faun never knew his parents, more to the point he didn't even know of them. His earliest memories are of the village in which he was born. The orphan was cared for by the comunity as a whole. Until the age of five that is. Due to carelessness the child managed to find a knife, having no toys of his own he decided he wanted to keep it. When one of the village elders tried to take the knife from him he lashed out viciously and by some luck, good or bad, he stuck the knife deep into the old mans heart.
The villagers were going to cast the child out but a travelling bard took pity on him and told the villagers he would take the child with him.
Those early years he speant with the aging bard were perhaps the happiest of his life. During that time the bard taught the young man the skill of an acrobat and entertainer. Faun was naturally talented and seemd to walk with extraordinary grace.
Five years later the old man sadly passed on and Faun was once more left alone. Upon entering a town he was spotted by the leader of the local theives guild and was approached. The theif presented the guild as a family and Faun was drawn to this, as he never had a family of his own. He was trained in the arts of burglery and pick pocketing. He became a spy for the guild, moving silently through the streets and finding likely victims. All went well for perhaps two years when he was caught climbing over a wall he shouldn't and he was brought before the local sherif and flogged. The scars of this still remain in his mind and on his skin as the guild did nothing to rescue him and even disowned him after the ordeal.
He decided from that point on the only person he could trust was himself. He travelled alone for a while, stealing only when he needed to. On one of these thefts he was caught by the man of the house, who he quickly killed. As he was leaving the scene of the crime the lady of the house also spotted him. As he wont harm a lady he just ran. The local guard later caught him and he was convicted of murder. As he was awaiting his trip to the gallows he shared a cell with a verteran assasin who informed him that a hanging could be survived if you fake death early and that people would becoming to rescue him. If Faun was willing to join the group they would take him with them. He agreed and all went to plan.
The group was later caught however and Faun was sold into slavery. Hi mistress was kind, perhaps too kind. One night she convinced Faun that she loved him and they retired to her bedroom. Her husband walked in during the act and ran for the guard and Faun was once more to be hung, this time for rape. He had a concealed knife on him and cut himself free from the ropes at night and fled once more.
Now alone Faun traveled far and wide, never staying long. During this time he was conscriped into an arm to be a "Night Soldier". His job was too slip into the enemy camp the night before a battle and to kill as many of the enemy leaders as posible. He was also to be sent with the Forlorn Hope in order to seek out the enemy high comand when a city was taken. He fled the army at his first opportunity and traveled to the land of Scotland.
Survival of the Scotish winter was task of pure endurance for Faun as he had never known wheather so cold. As spring was awakening he came across a young girl being attacted by a pack of wolves. He charged in to save her not thinking of his own life and carried her to safety, climbing to places even wolves could not follow. Upon asking the girl where she lived he hit a blank. The young child was deaf and also very scared. While traveling the next day he was acosted by a group of soldiers where the symbol of the Clan of Cranliegh. They took him prisoner along with girl to their lord. To cut a long story short the girl was the lords youngest daughter and, using sign language, she explained that he had rescued her. The lord imediately offered Faun the job of protecting his children, in return for money and full board. Faun excepted, without realising that the Lord had twins, one girl one boy, his own age. These twins were Shalane and Shaing. He speant three years looking after the lords children, and doing several other jobs for the family. Friendship grew between him and Shalane while the youngest daughter, openly adored the young theif. The case was not the same with the lord Shaing. Shaing saw Faun as an intruder in the family and of such a low class that no friendship should be allowed with his twin sister. His ultimate fear being a wedding between Faun and Shalane.
Driven by a wanderlust Faun left the castle and journeyed to the realm of Beware, once more meeting Shalane. During his very first day within the realm he risked his own life, placing his body between Tainted Angel and Runaway. He recieved a dagger in the chest for his troubles and the friendship of Runaway. During his stay in the realms much has happend to young Faun including joining the Peace Keepers at the rank of Colonel and the death of his fiancie.
He has since fallen in love again, and is now married to Ailey Mclir, and a truely wonderful couple they make, for the first time in his life Faun has a family. And with this family comes responsibilities. Faun has changed his lifestyle almost completely in order to become as good a husband as he can possibly be. He now runs a modestly sized jewelry business, as he is the sole producer. Not all of the marterials he uses he came by using legal means but its as legitimate as he's ever been.
