Finally, the doctor came up to the two. Ittou stood up, Jedra, absorbed in a book, hadn't noticed the doctors approach.
"Due to some magical skills, and a bit of medical science," said the doctor, "your human friend is healed. But again, your Reploid..."
"Hey," said Skan weakly. "Lemme handle this!"
"You're up that quickly?" asked Ittou. He looked around. "I didn't see you eat anything. Are there any Senzu Beans here?"
Not understanding, Skan ignored that last part. "No, but they did use some sorta magic. I'm kinda tired, but I've been brought up to date. C'mon, let's see what's going on. Jedra! You, too!"
Jedra blinked and looked up from his book. "Skan! You're awake! When did that happen?" Not bothering to listen to Skan's answer-which there was none-Jedra meticulously closed his book and placed it in the inside pocket of his cloak. He stood up to stand by Ittou and Skan over Z.
"OK," said Skan, pushing up the sleeves of his coat to his elbows. He looked over Z, going through the mechanics like a doctor would with a human. A few slow seconds passed, then Skan pulled his hand free and scratched the back of his head. "This is pretty complex stuff! I don't know anything about Reploids!"
"They're robots with human build, emotions, and thoughts," said Jedra, in a voice as if reciting. "Reploids are the best of both worlds, the ability to think and make decisions like humans, but the power and near indestructability of robots. They-"
"Shut up!" snapped Ittou. Then, "Hey! Could you draw us a picture of the insides of a Reploid?"
"The schematics..." Skan muttered, but no one listened.
Jedra shrugged. "I can kinda of remember the sight of the picture of the shematics. But I don't understand them, and I can't draw."
From out of nowhere, Ittou pulled out a pad of paper and a pencil. "Well, I can draw it! And Skan here, he can interpret it!"
Jedra shrugged again. Then, he began describing it to Ittou. Several times he had to change thigns because they were interpreted incorrectly, and Jedra made SURE that Ittou would get everything perfectly right. In about a half an hour, the drawing was complete. Ittou handed it to Skan, who's eyes bulged at the sight of the drawing.
"Good, GOD!" said Skan. "This is... amazing! Jedra, can I keep this?"
"Fix Z first, Skan," Ittou said.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Sure."
Skan realized that he would have very little to work with. A small pick from inside his trench coat that gave off a small spark of electricity, what Skan used to tinker with, was all he had. Very fortunately, though, the Sliver had not damaged anything beyond repair, and nothing was missing. After tweaking a few things and moving some more, every once in a while giving Z a test run, Skan completed his job. It seemed like minutes, as Skan highly enjoyed work such as this, but when he was finished, it was nearly dark. Ittou was asleep on the couch, and Jedra was reading a book.
