You may have seen Dragonball Z. The tastless quotes trying to be funny at a very serious moment, the STUPID censoring (blood seems to be aloud only if it isn't squirting or dripping, for some reason), and the biggest problem of all... PEOPLE DON'T DIE. No, they get sent to the next dimension! *rolls eyes* What the FOXTROT!? Both of the following are real quotes, from my main man Frieza. Tell me, which one sounds better?
"Haha, don't worry... you havn't lost your precious King forever... because you are about to join him, in HELL!", then, Frieza kills everyone.
"Haha, don't worry... you havn't lost your precious King forever... because you are about to join him... IN THE NEXT DIMENSION!", then, Frieza 'blasts' them, he doesn't kill them.
And another deal, this isn't just with DBZ, even though it's an excellent example. I can only get my animes in subtitles, or at worst, 'uncut' American tapes. Otherwise, it just sucks!
However, there ARE a few scenes I can imagine. On one America DBZ show, they showed a guy get impaled, and throw into the water. That's it. In the JAPANESE version, he was impaled, bucked around, screaming in pain, trying desperately to escape, and blood was squirting EVERYWHERE. That was pretty gory, there, so I can see how it's gone.
That's it, though, among VERY few others!
