Full Name: Skandranon Rashkae Erreden (SKAN-dray-non RASH-kay air-REH-den)
Weaponary/Powers
Skan's weapons are a red whip and a 9mm pistol. He is very skilled with the whip and uses it to strike enemies from a relatively safe distance, and is very good at wrapping them around enemies limbs and immobilizing them. The whip also has the ability to utilize electricity; by twisting the handle, crismon electricity courses through the whip's flexible tail. Also, he is skilled in the art of sniping with his gun (FFT style), where his enemy can be defeated without killing him.
He also is the owner of Sentinel, an extraordinarily powerful Gundam similar to the Epyon. Using the heat rod, a weapon similar to his own whip, and his excellent piloting skills, Skan is defeated by a very select few when at his best in Sentinel.
History
Skan doesn't know exaclty where he was born. All he knew was that he was born poor, and without a dad. He and his brother Tad were both born as bastards, and poor at that. Skan's mother was unable to pay for the two boys, and was forced to sell her body for money, which was still hardly enough. All Skan knows of his home was he had none, and that he was constantly sleeping somewhere else as to not be jailed for being a vagrant. Skan is ashamed of his past and speaks of it to few. Skan lived poor for eight years of his life, almost one full half. He lived with his twin brother, Tad Erreden, his mother, Marion Erreden, and his stepfather, Vree Erreden. Skan quickly learned, through eavesdropping, that Vree was not his real father. And for a few months, finding his real father was his top priority, but this didn't last long. Skan loved machinery right from the start. A travelling Tohr-Kreen named T'kahyl noticed Skan's talent with machines, and offered to Marion and Vree to adopt him temporarily. Knowing that their son would be best suited to live with a richer person, they let Skan go.
Skan lived with T'kahyl and a tribal band of Tokr-Kreen from his age of eight, to the age of fourteen. In this time, he was taught two things. To use his talent of psionics well, and to use machinery well. For these sixteen years, Skan ignored the psionic training as much as he could to learn more and more of machinery. In the future, he will regret his mistake. One day, T'kahyl showed his true purpose of taking Skan in. He wanted the tribal's treasure. Because the Tohr-Kreen were nomadic, and a very old tribe, they had accumulated a massive stash of treasure. Skan was manipulated into using his mechanics to unlock the treasure. Before Skan could figure out he was being used for evil purposes, he had fully unlocked the treasure. T'kahyl killed several other Tohr-Kreen, and was about to kill Skan. Skan, gaurding both his life and the treasure of the Tohr-Kreen, whom he had grown to love in six years, knocked T'kahyl out using his psionics.
For this deed, Skan was given a strange medallion, made by the giant praying mantis' themselves. Very few were given this medallion, and no one outside the race has. Skan has risen to the level among the Tohr-Kreen known as "T'kyl", the highest possible.
Skan decided it would be best to go his own ways a year later. With a heavy heart, he did so, and moved to the city of Midgar to find a job. What he did not expect was the slums, and the near impossibilty of finding a job.
His stubborn pride kept him from going home or to the Tohr-Kreen, and once again, Skan felt the life of a homeless man. When he was caught one day stealing, he was foribly drafted into the army. At the time he was fourteen, and it was not uncommon for such young people to do so.
He was in an elite spear fighting group called the Blue Spears. It was here he met his worst enemy and a best friend, Densetsu Lumin and Thom Seladon. Densetsu was seventeen, and Thom was nineteen. Skan also met a man named Kojiro, the eldest of the four, and Skan's second teacher in the ways of machines. At first, Skan was indifferent to Densetsu, and had a rivalry with Thom. But over time, Thom and Skan grew to like and appreciate each other, and soon became best friends.
Even during fighting, Skan refused to kill. He was a pacifist, and tried not to fight even when he was attacked. Four his three years of the army, Skan did not fight. And one day, Skan escaped.
He eventually moved to Windor, where he met his best friends Nisemeisho, Deric, and Kitra. He built the Engineers Guild, and was the head of the organization. He very soon became rich, and even donated half of his income to his parents. Life couldn't be better. One day, in an adventure with Deric and another few friends, Skan was attacked by a powerful Vampire. Because he could not fight well due to his lack of practice (he long since abandoned his pacifism for protection), Skan was beaten. When he turned into a Vampire, he fought a terrrible mental battle. He won, but at a price, his psionics. If he had learned more about it as a child, he could have controlled it better, and lived with it.
For weeks, Skan considered suicide. Life without psionics was not a life worth living. But his friends perked him up, and Skan was his old self again. But he still misses his psionics. For this reason, Skan does not wear the medallion given to him. He carries it around, but does not wear it, and does not share those few years of his past with anybody. During Windor War II, Densetsu, now a high ranking officer of the Guild, betrayed Skan and nearly killed him and almost destroyed the entire Guild. This sparked a rivalry that soon made the two bitter arch enemies.
Several months later, on a military strike against a rival company, called Bart's Company, Skan found a map that led to two Zodiac Stones, Aquarius and Pisces. Skan and his four highest ranking members of the Engineer's guild, Thom Seladon, Nisemeisho, and Teron Blaze, went on a large scale adventure, searching for these stones. In the Aquarius shrine, Skan aligned with an anima relic, and his Gear became and Omnigear. Not long afterwards, Skan betrayed his unwillingess to kill to save the lives of himself and the three others, by killing Bart himself, and making Bart's company fall. Eventually, Skan got both the Zodiac Stones, and one of his worst enemies, Luren, stole the Pisces Stone, and transformed into the Lucavi, Ixtchil. Following that was one of the fiercest battles Skan had ever fought in, with Ixtchil's allies and Skan's friends, a battle barely won.
Only a few months later, Skan, under extremely bad circumstances, succumbed to the power of his Zodiac Stone, and was possessed by the Lucavi Tirkul. It took another Zodiac Stone, Cancer (used by his friend Kitra), to kill Tirkul without killing it's host, Skan. Later, Kitra, too, fell to the Zodiac Stones power and became Esacus, nearly killing Skan. Kitra was saved by using her counterpart, the peace loving Sha'alra. These three encounters left Skan very frightened of demons who possess others' bodies.
Skan survived these encounters only to meet one more - his final. A man named Retsim Rollef hired Densetsu to kill Skan, and declared war on the MMG. In the confusion, Skan destroyed his and Densetsu's mobile suits with a self destruction system, but was killed by Densetsu in the resulting battle.
Miscellaneous
Skan's sunglasses are worn for two purposes (other than the fact that he thinks they look cool on him). One of them is because his eyes, due to a wound in a war, has made his right eye very sensitive to bright lights. Sensitive enough that Skan can wear the sunglasses in most any circumstances. They also are meant to hide the very same scar (a small scar on his right eyelid) that Skan is self conscious about.
Skan also looks greatly up to the dead Mustadio Bunanza; the man in which he's based the Engineer's guild off of. He secretly wants to be a hero, like Mustadio was, and to give his life saving the world in the end. (Heh... too bad that didn't work out!)
OOC Notes
I really never liked Skan. He's too cliche, and quite a bit of a powergamer at times, really. He was fun to roleplay, though, because of his little differences than all other "gamblers with blue hair who can get serious when they have to", but he got old and tiried quickly.
So, I killed him off. He's dead, folks, don't expect any crappy "Ressurection RP!" to come out of this.
However, since I am most well known as Skan (everybody else is "Skan's secondary character), I still post in Windor and the guilds as "Skan's Ghost"... but I don't roleplay with him.
