Weaponary/Powers
Maighande's primary weapon is a two-handed, slightly curved sword. On both sides of the handle and blade is an etched heron. The heron marked sword is the symbol of the blademaster - a complete master of the sword. It takes much to defeat a bladmeaster.
Maighande also keeps a knife in his cape for emergencies, but he really does not know how to fight with it. The sword is all he knows.
History
Maighande was born and raised in Fal Moran, the capital of Shienar. His mother died in the act of birthing him because of his unusuall large size at birth. An attribute that stuck with him through his entire life. His father was killed in one of the countless Trolloc raids in the Borderlands. Maighande has given to War Master Algen, a warrior who had long since retired from the battling due to his old age.
Algen was as great a father to Maighande as anybody could be, throughout Maighande's life. However, the knowledge that his step father was not, in fact, his true father kept a barrier between them tht Maighande refused to take down. So, he always kept to himself.
At one point in his life, Maighande asked Algen how his parents died. He refused to believe that his father could be a faceless casualty to one of the hundreds of seemingly routine battles against the Blight. After having enough with being pestered about the "truth", Algen formed a fabrication that Maighande's father was killed by a soldier named Aconn.
This news brought on a great need for vengeance. So Maighande worked much, much harder than befoer at learning the blade. Because of how it affected Maighande's progress, Algen kept up the lie. Years later, Maighande reached the rare level of swordsmanship - blademaster.
With nothing but his sword and the clothes on his back, Maighande set off on a "quest" to find Aconn, leaving only a note for his stepfather. The travels this brought on led Maighande to and fro. Many people, for a mug of booze or some coins, would pretend they knew the location of Aconn. For a long time, nothing changed. Until he found a group of thieves attacking an innoctent man. With great ease, he dispatched of the thieves, and introduce himself to the man. Amrik Rinis was his name. After trading stories, the two became friends, perhaps due to the fact that Maighande could not care in the slightest bit that Amrick was a male chanellor. Their relationship grew as Amrik joined Maighande in the hunt for Aconn. Though when their travels came to Tar Valon, Amrik chose to stay behind to avoid the Aes Sedai. So once more, Maighande was alone.
This was only momentary, as Maighande came across a similar situation as when he met Amrik - three men attacking a woman, most definately trying to rape her. Maighande saved the woman, Kirlanna, and agreed to escort her to Tear. Along the trip, the two fell in love, and married in Tear.
Maighande lived peacefully in Tear, when he had a dream that told him he was the Dragon Reborn. Despite his wife's please, and the fact that he could not channel, Maighande tried to raise an army as the Dragon.
However, before his army could extend beyond the dozens, somebody made an attempt on his life. An assassination from the rooftops very nearly killed him, had Kirlanna not taken the arrow meant for him. Even though he was killed, the death of his wife was enough to quell his uprising.
Beaten, Maighande could only go back to hunting Aconn. However, when he recieved word that his step father died, he nearly killed himself.
Until he learned of Amrik being held prisoner in the White Tower.

OOC Notes
I love Maighande. Even if he's a bit cliché, he's a really cool character! When I originally made him, he was even more cliché, really. Actually, he was a direct copy of al'Lan Mandrogoran, right down to the Malkeri lineage. And he could channel. Needless to say, he's changed.
Maighande was actually my first online character, with all the above attributes, but I eventually just killed him off because his character was so overused, quite boring to play. When I was told about the Tales of Ta'veren MUD, I recreated him, with several new character changes. And he's changed a bit from then, too. Now he's much better, with a pretty diverse and different background.
