Full Name: Aloran Crescentmoon (AL-or-ahn KRES-sent-moon)
Weaponary/Powers
The Silver Bow, matching the arrows, is made entirely of silver. It is reinforced with a magic, one that cost Artea considerable money. This magic makes it that the silver will not break. When bent back, it won't shatter. When the arrow tips strike, they will not chip. This magic is also rumored to make the arrows never miss, but this may be due in part to Artea's mastery of the bow and arrow. He also uses basic elven boots and cloak, which greatly help his tracking. He also uses a slight 'cantrip' magical ability, which is mostly useful only for entertainment.
History
Artea was born in the High Elven city of Kenetheren, a city like almost all other cities, except for the fact that it's location was very close to the cave of the Great Wyrm, Ambyr. The dragon rarely attacks elven cities outright, but due to it's ravenous hunger and taste for elven flesh, Ambyr attacked Ketheren and decimated nearly the entire town. Many people died - including Artea's parents, a mage and an archer, both who participated in the short skirmish with the Great Wyrm. Like many other children orphaned in the battle, Artea was given to and raised by the church of the elven god Correllan Larenthian.
Artea was raised with many "brothers and sisters", though few people in the church actually shared any blood relation, and none did with Artea. Every single elf child chose to study a weapon among their normal schooling, each one with the intention of killing Ambyr. With the exception of magic, the more common chosen weapons were the sword, the bow, and the spear. Artea chose to use the bow, and only the bow, one of the few that chose to specialize in only one weapon, even forsaking his magic. And many of the elves were encouraged to learn a musical instrument; Artea chose the harp, the most common instrument besides the flute.
Growing up in the church gave Artea a very strong religious feeling. He became a priest, a preacher, and promised to leave the church to spread the word of the elven god, Larenthian. Though that was not the real reason he left the church. Like many of his other siblings, he left to kill Ambyr and avenge his family.
Artea lived many years of his life (though, as an elf with a longer lifetime, it was not that very long to him) as a traveller; a nomad. Artea wandered the world, living as a bard and a mercenary with his soon renowed skill with bow and harp.
However, this hunt for Ambyr soon came to a screeching halt. Four of his other siblings that had left the church to find Ambyr did their job much better than he. With the Great Wyrm dead, Artea tried to settle down in a normal life, but his wandering feet made that a very difficult feat. After a while, Artea decided to strengthen his feeble magic skills, in hopes of becoming a War Wizard (a high ranking soldier with both excellent magical and physical abilities), and left for the Miscellaneous Magic User's Guild.
Miscellaneous
Artea is a priest at the church of Correllan Larenthian, the common god among all elves (with the exception of drow and aquatic). This gives him much more privelages and respect that many other High Elves in his situation.
OOC Notes
Artea was my VERY FIRST character ever, created at first for the game Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. He originally was a bit (hell, a LOT) more cliché than he is now, but give me a break... he was my first character! I eventually killed him off, just because I didn't like him anymore and had "better" characters.
After a while, I revived him, then killed him again. But time passed, and I wanted to play an elven character (especially because I've got a friend that plays elves very horribly), so I "recreated" Artea, instead of just bringing him back. Changing background and looks and weapons until you have what you've got now!
Quotes
"..Yeah, I could hit that."
"Repent, in the name of Correllen Larenthian, and you will be saved."
"This is nothing a bit of music cannot fix!"
