Andrés Batista is a concertist, composer and titled teacher of flamenco
guitar. As a concertist, he has received aulogies from the most important
musical critics and flamencologists as well as from the masters Pablo Casals,
Joaquín Rodrigo, F. Moreno Torroba and Aram Kachaturian. He is considered
to be one of the few guitar players who has both a solid musical and technical
background, and a personal style in his interpretations and compositions
for one, two, three, four and five guitars.
Andrés Batista is a pioneer in the field of flamenco teaching. He
has published several books on the subject and he has given courses in
Switzerland, France, Germany, the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, the Superior
Conservatory of Sevilla, the "Manuel de Falla" Conservatory of Buenos Aires
and the Conservatory of the Comunity of Madrid.
We can emphasize among his proffesional history the National Guitarist
Award granted by The Flamencology Chair of Jerez; the Honorific Medal of
the International Contest of Campion (Italy); Gold Disc of Radio Madrid;
the Award to the best performer on the Musical Contest of German Television
at Frankfurt and the official title of flamenco guitar teacher, granted
by the Spanish Culture Mnistry in 1977.
