OSAN AIR BASE, KOREA

In the red jump suits are Colonel Harry Glaze and his wife Suzie. Colonel Harry Glaze was the Red Horse Commander for three years. This was taken at a Red Horse Picnic at Osan Air Base.

This is MSgt Campbell and his daughter. MSgt Campbell was an Engineering Assistant (for those who don't know and engineering assistant draws blue prints, does the surveying, and takes various types of earth and concrete samples on construction projects that they later test in a labatory.) and spent many years in Korea and with Red Horse.

The little boy here is my son whose name is James Anderson. This was also taken at the Red Horse Picnic at Osan Air Base. James was four years old when this picture was taken.

Here we have some of the Horsemen enjoying the Red Horse Picnic at Osan. Vic Leras is the one with the tank top shirt and a dark hat. He is from SanDiego, California.

We are still at the picnic and this picture is one of Danny Lents. He is a Tecnical Sergeant and worked as a mechanic supervisor in the Red Horse Vehicle Maintenance Shop.

Master Sergeant Moakley is at his desk talking on the telephone. Master Sergeant Rudolph Moakley was the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of "B" Flight in the Airfields Unit of Red Horse.

This is the Red Horse Commander's Secretary,Maxine Matherson. I found Maxine to be very helpful and friendly during my tour of duty at Osan Air Base. She would always stop what she was doing to take care of you no matter what your rank was. She was there to help and that makes everybody's jobs easier to do.

This is Major Thomas Fujimoto the Operations Officer for Red Horse. When he left Osan Air Base he went to Hickam Air Force Base and took his lovely secretary with him. We found out later that Major Fujimoto and Ms Chong where married in Hawaii. Surprised most of us in Red Horse since we didn't have an inkling that they where even dateing here in Korea.

The commissary shown here was a constructed from ground up by Red Horse. Before this commissary was constructed everyone had to travel to the Army Base at Yonstown in Seoul, Korea (which was about 45 minutes away) to shop at a commissary. Having this commissary constructed at Osan, greatly enhanced the living conditions there.

LtCol Martin Dooley pictured above was the Red Horse Logistic's Officer in Charge. He also had a private pilots license and used to fly Colonel Glaze to other bases so Colonel Glaze could check out Red Horse Projects that where being constructed at those bases.

Technical Sergeant Michael Sonnenberg is having a conversation with a member of Red Horse's Well Drilling Team while taking a coffee break.

In this picture we have Red Horse Airfield Troops laying concrete on a project at "C" Diamond, which is on the airfield at Osan Air Base.

In this picture Master Sergeant Bernice Causeway was taking a lunch break and didn't really want his picture taken at that time. Sergeant Causeway was the Superintendent for the Airfields Section which has approximently 165 pavements technitions and heavy equipment operators assigned. Sergeant Causeway retired and is living in the Ft Walton Beach, Florida area, last I heard.

This is another picture of "C" Diamond and the men that were working on that project.

Here you have Master Sergeant Rudolph Moakley returning from a Red Horse Field Deployment. Master Sergeant Moakley was the Non Commissioned Officer In Charge of the Red Horse Aggressor Team.

Chief Master Sergeant Clayton Stemple, Deputy Operations Chief for Red Horse is conducting a meeting with the Airfields Section and Utility Section Managers. Chief Stemple stayed in Korea when he retired and was working for a contractor at Suwan Air Base, Korea. When I left Korea he was still there.

Chief Master Sergeant Charles Dooley is at a meeting with the Deputy Operations Chief. Chief Dooley was killed when a gas pump blew up in 1986 while he was refueling a gas can at a convenience store near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was a fine person to work for and it was a shame that he had to die in this manner. But I am sure that he is with the Lord at this moment.

This is a housing complex for Air Force dependents that was constructed next to the new commisary at Osan Air Base for dependents. The housing complex was constructed by locale Korean Contractors.
I took a close up picture of Technical Sergeant William Taylor as he was operating a front-end-loader. Walley was on the Red Horse Aggressor Team and the Red Horse Demolition Team as well as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He kept pretty busy with all of his duties, but seemed to thrive with them. He is presently retired and lives in the Ft Walton Beach, Florida area.

This is a picture of James Caldwell or better known as "BEAR" to most Horsemen that know him. Believe this picture was taken at Osan AB where Bear works with a contractor at Osan.

Picture of Bear Caldwell and and his daughter Mi Suk Kim.

This is a picture of Bear Caldwell his wife Cinderella Caldwell while they where on an excursion.

Above picture from left to right is SSgt Nate Laidlaw and TSgt Mike Mabe on a Well Drilling Project in Wonju, South Korea. Picture was taken in late summer 2006.
