The Westfilm Festival at Westfield’s Rialto Theater was originated in 2002 by filmmakers Peter Paul Basler, William McMeekan Jr, and Kenneth Waddell. Each had an independent feature to showcase and the two nights of screenings they hosted at the Rialto theater was presented under the umbrella of Westfilm.
In the Fall of 2003, hoping to capitalize on the success of the first festival and with an eye towards expanding their line up, Basler and McMeekan launched a larger festival with two features: Basler’s latest effort, a feature starring Marc Coppola. The festival also included shorts and student films making it truly a film festival for all of Westfield.
As in past years, this years Westfilm promises two nights of fantastic
films including: features, shorts and student films. A complete listing
of films screening at the festival will be available after April 20th
on this site. Please check back.
