This Woman's Work

But Arwen became as a mortal woman, and yet it was not her lot to die until all that she had gained was lost.
~The Return of the King, Appendix A, “The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen”

The first time I saw the scene in RotK where Arwen sees a vision of Aragorn and Eldarion, I was unspeakably moved. I still think it’s one of the most beautiful scenes in the entire movie. And not long after, I listened to this song and pictured that scene. I’ve been planning this video ever since. I had intended to enter it in the Show Your Quality June challenge (the subject was loss), but I just didn’t have my files ready in time. Nonetheless I’m quite glad to finally have made it. It turned out every bit as well as I’d envisioned it – something that doesn’t always happen for me.
