Topic: tekmical difficulties
The V.V slipped up last night and didn't connect the correct plugs to the right inputs. There was an attack on the sign last night, but no video footage. The sign was pulled off of the wire frame and dropped on the sidewalk, thorns still attached. The big ring of ground thorns was pulled a bit, and the new trip and alarm mechanism was released, I'm sure, making a sudden and startling crash. V.V will do better next time.

Mood:  d'oh
Topic: WTF
I come home today (in my car) to hear (neenoneenoneeno) my sign alarm going off. My neighbor yells at me as I'm pulling in my driveway, "I'm going to sue your white ass for noise pollution." Turns out the alarm had been going off for at least a half hour. Some bicycle police came by shortly later. They had gotten a call. Sounded like a fire alarm. I've got to unwind the tension in the wire a bit, now that it's gotten cooler.
I voted today.

Pretty Young Republican Boy
Mood:  suave
Topic: PYRB
Last night/early this morning, 4:40 am, pretty boy sign stealer comes up to the sign. He grabs it from underneath, not touching the surface of the sign itself, which is heavily oiled. The sign is starting to look like something that you'd find clogging your shower drain. It is covered with tiny leaves, fly away weed seeds, dirt, grime, human hair, dead insects, and anything else that is blowing in the wind.
So he pulls it straight up from the bottom, the crown of thorns rears up like a giant serpent's tail, the alarm goes off, he stands looking quizzical for a split second, then drops the sign and the metal frame in it's place and runs. This latest suspect bears an uncanny resemblance to one of my young, Bush supporting neighbors.

Classy Neighbors
Mood:  cheeky
Topic: WTF
I'm all for political expression, obviously. But I do have a little obsessive/compulsive problem with protecting my free speech in the form of this little Kerry/Edwards sign. I'm one of the first to admit, (my wife being the very first) that I can go a little overboard with my passions. But please, sign displayers, have a little class. An example of non-classy sign behavior is stealing a sign. Another example is displaying too many of the same signs. This is a case that just happens to be a Pro-Bush/Dick display of too many signs: Two identical signs on each edge of the property line. One sign in the front door. And one gigantic 4x6 foot sign screwed to the front of the otherwise tasteful bungalow on Milwaukee's east side. That's an overpowering 54 square feet of redundant political signage. This kind of sign behavior is aggressive, provocative and distasteful. I'm sure there is a zoning law that this is in violation of. Does anybody know of one? 414 286 8210 (Milwaukee Permits, Signs)

White Dread
Mood:  quizzical
Topic: Unbelibabadoo
Soon, I will post a new video. Thursday night, actually 42 minutes after midnight early Friday morning, October 1, just hours after the first presidential debate, a young white male with dreadlocks ran up on to my front porch and ran away with the sign. Later that morning, when the sun came up, I found the sign tossed back into my garden, all brambles and thorns still attached to the sign. I dont know if White Dread threw the sign back up into the yard after he dropped it on the side walk. I do know that he ran away and left the sign behind. I do not know why he took the sign. Is there a young republican with dreadlocks? Is there a White Dread who is mischievous and craving attention from the ladies? So perplexing. Young hoodlums, please don't hurt yourselves.

Benevolent pranksters?
Mood:  accident prone
Topic: Unbelibabadoo
Okay, so here's why I've got to take it down a notch. Three students who knew about the website came by wearing hoods, armed with scissors, flashlight, bandannas, and other accoutrements. Only I did not know they were playing a funny joke on you, you a funny guy. We saw them eyeing the sign, and I was waiting for them to come back. When the alarm went off about 20 minutes later I beat them mercilessly. NO, not really. The alarm went off and I was upstairs I opened the window and started yelling things like "drop the sign, I'm calling the police, drop it, here come the police."
One of the young ladies dropped her cell phone and I bolted down the steps and out the front door. I could see the sign on the sidewalk. As I sprinted closer one of the girls was like, "we totally did it for a joke." They helped me put the sign back. We had a discussion about politics. But I made a fool of my self again in front of the neighbors yelling my head off out the window. Now I see the cops have driven by three time in the past 5 minutes while I write this. This one goes to eleven, but I'm turning it back to a 2.

Wild Hoodlums with Air Filter
Mood:  not sure
Topic: Unbelibabadoo
Wild hoodlums. A bang. "Kevin, Kevin, blah blah blah." Two uh-oh boys run by. An unattractive overweight republican gestures. A fast little guy runs up with an air filter from an auto. Runs away with sign. Alarm sounds. Drop signs. Runs away.

Wanted posters
Mood:  rushed
Topic: Repeat Offenders
I may be paranoid, but I think the dude from the second night is out waiting for the skulking pacing guy from the first night on his front porch. To make me seem even more delusional, I've been putting up posters for the DAC Talk I'm giving on Friday, and I think smoker dude has a folded up poster and is waiting for skulking hoodlum to come home. I walked by to check him out, and I'm 90% sure that this is the guy who drops the cigarette on my front porch. By the way, I gave the butt to the cops in a little baggy ala CSI. Did I say that already?
And don't believe the polls.
Vote.

Busted by the V.v.
Mood:  incredulous
Topic: Repeat Offenders
SO in the background of the New Busted video, you can hear CNN and me in the background. I'm incredulous becuase I see that Wisconsin is a red state. And I say, "There giving Wisconsin to Bush!"
Meanwhile about 20 feet away, a hodlum is sneaking up on my sign, pulls it and the alarm goes off. And so do I. Thus, the "Yo B*tch, what was that about!" comment. He tried to tell me that the real offender went the other way, but one of my neighbors witnessed the whole sneaky episode and told the punks to get out before he called the cops. I capped off the conversation with a "Dude, you know I got you on video."

Vote Gwen Moore US Congress
Mood:  accident prone
Now Playing: Sign MIA
Topic: Repeat Offenders
So the Political Pranksters struck again last night. This time they thought about taking the Kerry Edwards booby trapped, but opted for an off camera, no strings attached Gwen Moore sign. I don't think they know that there is acamera, but they knew that the Moore sign was an easier target, which makes me think that they had a bad experience with Kerry Edwards (sign). I'm waiting for them.
Ahh, the Heroism of Bush supporters.
