This isn't the movie I'm reviewing, but did everyone see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? Pretty good plot, bad-ass fights, the coolest sword on the silver screen this side of Luke's light saber..... but my only complaint, the movie was in MANDARIN CHINESE!! In my opinion, when there was no fighting going on, the plot was slowed down drastically by a language I couldn't understand (even with subtitles). This is just my humble opinion, and I've been bashed for it countless times before.

Why did I include this rant? 1) It is the last time I bash a good movie in another language, and 2) Because it leads to my latest review, a little-known German gem called Anatomy. I admit that I did not know this film was in German when I rented it and was slightly against the film at first, but boy was I proved wrong! The movie starts with a German hottie named Paula Henning (Franka Potente) getting accepted to a prestigious medical school in Heidelberg. With slight reluctance from her father and grandfather (who founded the school I believe), she gets the OK from them and packs her bags for Heidelberg. When one of her colleagues mysteriously dies with slash and stab marks on his abdomen (gee, wonder how that happened?), she does a little extra research of her own. Much to her dismay, she discovers that the school is run by a cult of doctors called the AAA! (it translates to some crap in German that I can't recall at the moment); they believe in "experimental killing of the few to save the lives of many." Some of the cult members get a little too into their work, and nobody is safe from these experiments. Paula is in for the fight of her life against the cult that she knows too much about.

Suspense, plot twists, and deaths oh my! This movie is pure genius from start to finish. My favorite part of the movie is how they get the people for their experiments; I don't want to give everything away, so you'll have to see it for yourself. The plot twists are not major but do add a little more to the story. The gore isn't over the top, but I liked it a lot. There weren't many scares for a horror movie, so that was a little disappointing; but if you're in the mood for an entertaining and slightly sadistic movie, I definitely recommend checking this one out.
