Hello warriors. Solemn Memorial Day to you.
Through the learning I’ve done on American History, I’ve discovered many things, not the least of which two of them are: shame and anger. My shame about my own at-one-time pathetic lack of knowledge of what the idea America meant and my anger that America, its virtues and the human virtues that went into creating it were not mentored to me with the discipline, reverence and respect they deserved.
I cannot relay the depth of fulfillment, and gratefulness, in having the opportunity to correct those errors through my involvement with young Conservative-minded students who will be this country's next generations of leaders.
I promise not to make the mistake of not mentoring my own children correctly.
Watching C-Span's coverage of the President laying the wreath at The Tomb of the Unknowns, I happened to turn and catch my 2 1/2 yr. daughter, Indy, standing at attention with her hand over her heart while the color guard made their entry. She turned to me and said, "Daddy, they protect us and our liberties." (Unbelievable, she's got over a 40 year headstart.)
They do. We all need to know they do -- and never, ever forget. Many did so by making the ultimate sacrifice. My family's prayers go out to all those who have suffered upholding Creation's truth that Freedom is not Free. It is priceless and the most costly at the same time. Thank you.
Always Believe, Warrior
