Slocan Lake continued
UPDATED 10:AM August 20 ---- 30 to 40 mm of
rain expected to begin overnight. This is a
warning that significant rainfall is expected
or occurring in these regions. Radar imagery indicates lines of
convection over the central interior. These
cells have the potential to develop into
severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and
evening. Damaging winds large hail and heavy
downpours can be expected with the passage of
these thunderstorms. An unseasonably strong
low pressure system is expected to arrive
overnight bringing heavy rainfall. 30 to 40
mm of rain can be expected over the West
Kootenay and Arrow Lakes - Slocan Lake
regions through Wednesday night.

concern for local residence near Airport
Road. The size of the fire is not know at
this time but local residence say bombers
actioned the fire early Friday afternoon.
More storms are expected over the weekend
keeping fire crews busy.
