The Mummy's Curse
Topic: Entry
8. The Mummy's Curse
Year made: 1944
Summary: The Mummy Kharis shows up in Louisiana for some reason. This movie, is, the, worst, mummy, movie, I've, seen.
Genre: Horror/Fantasy
Body count: 8 (Not including flashbacks)
number of Giant monsters: 0
Number of smaller Monsters: 1
Ominous thunder storms: 0
Farts for comedic effect: 0
Number of military/police operations: 0
Number of angry mobs: 0
Obvious stock footage from things other then other movies: 0
Number of time the words "It's alive" or a variation of it are used: 0
Is it a sequel?: Yes
Number of Car chases:0
Number of airplane fights/chases:0
Times the score from Creature From The Black Lagoon is played: 0
Best moment: The only truly good part of the movie is the final "fight". But that's only good slightly, not even remarkably good.
Worst Moment: Well, it starts with a dance number, so we know it's gonna be painful. Then the next 10 minutes is of stereotypical southerners and such great lines as "The Devil's on the loose and he's dancing with the mummy!" (groan). Then we have another "exciting" priest initiation sequence, which we have seen 3 times already. But then we go to ANOTHER flash back going over the "unsacred love, sacrilege, buried alive etc. etc." thing, which we've seen in both the original Mummy and in The Mummy's Hand.
Fluke: The Mummy and his "princess" ended up in the last movie in a swamp in Mapleton, Mass. Since when did the fictional town of Mapleton get transported to Louisiana?
Could also be called: "The Mummy in the Bayous"

The Mummy's Ghost
Topic: Entry
7. The Mummy's Ghost
Year made: 1944
Summary: Another high priest comes to America to try and find the body of Princess Ananka. While there, he finds her reincarnation. From that summary, it sounds really painful to watch. It is.
Genre: Horror/Fantasy
Body count: 4 tops
number of Giant monsters:0
Number of smaller Monsters: 1
Ominous thunder storms: 0
Farts for comedic effect: 0
Number of military/police operations: 0
Number of angry mobs: 1
Obvious stock footage from things other then other movies: 4
Number of time the words "It's alive" or a variation of it are used:
Is it a sequel?: Yes
Number of Car chases: 0
Number of airplane fights/chases: 0
Times the score from Creature From The Black Lagoon is played: 0
Best moment: The ending.
Worst Moment: After 2 times already, the Priests giving each other missions is now officially boring as heck.
Fluke: The first 2 Kharis films, the priests are of the Order of Karnak, in this film, their priests of Arkam. A bit of a lack of continuity there....
Could also be called: "Kharis on Campus"

The Mummy's Tomb
Topic: Entry
6. The Mummy's Tomb
Year made: 1942
Summary: Kharis and his high priest come to Massachusetts to exact revenge on Steve Banning for desecrating Ananka's tomb.
Genre: Horror/Fantasy
Body count: 8 tops, although 2 end up being temporary (Some of these are from a flashback, but my rule is that if the flashback has sound, it counts)
number of Giant monsters: 0
Number of smaller Monsters:1
Ominous thunder storms: 0
Farts for comedic effect: 0
Number of military/police operations: 0
Number of angry mobs: 1
Obvious stock footage from things other then other movies: 3
Number of time the words "It's alive" or a variation of it are used: 1
Is it a sequel?: Yes
Number of Car chases: 0
Number of airplane fights/chases: 0
Times the score from Creature From The Black Lagoon is played: 0
Best moment: Gotta be the Angry Mob and it's pursuit of the Mummy, which ends in them burning a mansion down.
Worst Moment: The first 10 or 15 minutes are a flashback from the last movie. Sorry, but in a 61 minute movie, that takes too long.
Fluke: Kharis can only move on Full Moons, but he seems to be out every night in the movie.
Could also be called: "Kharis in Massachusetts"

The Mummy's Hand
Topic: Entry
5. The Mummy's Hand
Year made: 1940
Summary: 2 comical archaeologists are part of a expedition that looks for the burial place of the Princess Ananka. But a high priest and his mummy named Kharis won't stand for it.
Genre: Horror/Fantasy
Body count: 6 tops, altough 2 deaths end up being temporary (Plus alot in a flash back, BTW, for a Flash back to count in the body count, the flashback must have sound and dialog, not just a narrator.)
number of Giant monsters:0
Number of smaller Monsters: 1
Ominous thunder storms: 0
Farts for comedic effect: 0
Number of military/police operations: 0
Number of angry mobs: 0
Obvious stock footage from things other then other movies: 5
Number of time the words "It's alive" or a variation of it are used: 1
Is it a sequel?: No (It is not a real sequel to the mummy, it's a whole new story with all new characters)
Number of Car chases: 0
Number of airplane fights/chases: 0
Times the score from Creature From The Black Lagoon is played: 0
Best moment: The card trick sequence, in which Babe tries to pull a card trick on a magician for drinks. Well, he's doing it against a magician, so he loses. For some reason I find that just as funny as anything that happened in "Abbott and Costello meet the Mummy". Also worth noting is a bar-room brawl.
Worst Moment: The flashback to Ancient Egypt, which uses the same exact footage as the flashback to ancient egypt in The Mummy, only to make things worse, instead of Boris Karloff's face, we see Tom Tyler's cut in for some new footage.
Fluke: They show ALOT of stuff that's South American pyramid related that does not go along with Egypt (like stones with faces on them, and jungle like atmospheres.) (Note: This is due to them sharing sets with a Jungle picture).
Could also be called: "Kharis in Egypt"

Summary: A mummy comes back from the grave and tries to resurrect a dead love who has been reincarnated. Wait? How can you resurrect something that already alive, albeit reincarnated... ahh what the heck,
Genre: Horror/Fantasy
Body count: 5 (Not including a dog and alot of people in a flashback)
number of Giant monsters: 0
Number of smaller Monsters: 1

Is it a sequel?: no
Number of Car chases: 0
Number of airplane fights/chases: 0
Times the score from Creature From The Black Lagoon is played: 0
Best moment: When Im-Ho-Tep gets up and walks right out of his casket, causing that one guy to die laughing.
Worst Moment: Ardeth Bay sneaking into the house.
Fluke: The museum of Cairo could not be right next to the sphinx as is shown in the movie.
Could also be called: "My Mummy Wants to Resurrect the Reincarnated!"

The Creature Walks Among Us
Topic: Entry
O boy, The Creature Walks Among Us, let's just say..... it stinks.

3. The Creature Walks Among Us
Year made: 1956
Summary: Scientists change the Gill-man into a land animal. I start to wonder why the heck I'm watching this movie.
Genre: Sci-Fi/Horror
Body count: 4 tops (not including one Mountain Lion and possibly one goat)
number of Giant monsters:0
Number of smaller Monsters: 1
Ominous thunder storms: 0
Farts for comedic effect: 0
Number of military/police operations: 0
Number of angry mobs: 0
Obvious stock footage from things other then other movies: 1
Number of time the words "It's alive" or a variation of it are used:
Is it a sequel?: Yes
Number of Car chases: 0
Number of airplane fights/chases: 0
Times the score from Creature From The Black Lagoon (or a part of it) is played: 18
Best moment: When the creature attacks the little boat and is set on fire.
Worst Moment: The whole idea of changing the Gill-man into a land lubber. Arrrrr, it be far fetched even for a Sci-fi film.
Fluke: When the Gill-man falls into the water on fire, you can see the fire go out instantaneously as he hits the water, even before he's IN the water.

Revenge of The Creature
Topic: Entry
Revenge of the Creature, it's a sequel, and a fun one, but not a good one.

2. Revenge of The Creature
Year made: 1955
Summary: People capture the Gill-man and bring him to a Florida aquarium/theme park. Not a smart idea.
Genre: Sci-Fi/Horror
Body count: Approximately 4 (not including a dog)
number of Giant monsters:0
Number of smaller Monsters:1
Ominous thunder storms: 0
Farts for comedic effect:0
Number of military/police operations: 2 (Well, actually, they might only be 1, but I say 2)
Number of angry mobs: 0
Obvious stock footage from things other then other movies: 3
Number of time the words "It's alive" or a variation of it are used:
Is it a sequel?: Yes
Number of Car chases: 0
Number of airplane fights/chases: 0
Times the score from Creature From The Black Lagoon (or a part of it) is played: 22
Best moment: When the Gill-man escapes.
Worst Moment: Well, the Gill-man waving "Hi!" was pretty stupid, but that scene with the rats and the cat is just.... stupider
Fluke: The water at the aquarium is more dirty then what the water in the Amazon was in the last movie. Also, when the police cars pull out, you can see one clearly with a Japanese flag on it..... hey, I didn't know that Jacksonville was in Japan!
Could also be called: "Gill-man II: With a Vengeance"

The Creature From the Black Lagoon
Topic: Entry
Yesterday I watched the Creature from the black lagoon. A classic.

1. The Creature From The Black Lagoon
Year made: 1954
Summary: A group of scientists go to the uncharted region of the Amazon known as the black lagoon. Chaos follows when they find a Gill-man.
Genre: Sci-Fi/Horror
On-Screen Body count: 5
number of Giant monsters:0
Number of smaller Monsters: 1
Ominous thunder storms: 0
Farts for comedic effect: 0
Number of military/police operations: 0
Number of angry mobs: 0
Obvious stock footage from things other then other movies: 2
Number of time the words "It's alive" or a variation of it are used: 0
Is it a sequel?: No
Number of Car chases: 0
Number of airplane fights/chases: 0
Times the theme from Creature From The Black Lagoon (or a part of it) (Bum-BUM-bum) is played: 20
Best moment: The final show down with the Gill-Man, with the Gill-man kidnapping the girl and him ultimately being shot.
Worst Moment: The captain asking what the Uranium lead test is... just seemed completely unnesesary seeing as how the Creature was about to make it's first appeareance.
Fluke: There is NO WAY the Amazon river looks that clean, yet the inside of the "institute"'s aquarium, it's dark and full of algae-like stuff.
Could also be called: "The Gill-Man"
