I like to write. The first epic tale i produced in written word was in the first grade. I filled my piece of paper front and back with the epic tale of an ant creatively named Chris who got lost and went thru a series of misadventures trying to get home. At the age of seven i was writing my own version of The Odessey. :) It was the first time in my memory that i got positive attention for something i did instead of negative attention. So of course, i kept right on doing it. I dont feel however that i have much of a future as a professional writer, as my ADD gets in the way of my writing more than just a little. I'm currently working on three short stories and a feature length screenplay, and i also have another idea for a new short story swimming around in my head.
So anyway, without further delay, here are some examples of my writing. If there's no link for something, then that means i want to post that story, i just havent been able to find it on my computer yet. Arent I organized?
"Daggerscout" - This is the first part of the story of Teke Daggerscout, Galactic Reject. :) Well in this one he is anyway. Set in the Star Wars galaxy, this is a depressing tale of woe in which i basically tortured the poor character. When i wrote this, i was sixteen years old, and this was my first serious attempt at writing anything outside of a school assignment. This was also when my Star Wars obsession flared up BIG TIME. I was depressed, not liking school, not getting along with anyone, and my sister was in the hospitol with cancer. I used this as an escape from a world i hated, from a life i loathed. What i love about this story is that everything is exact within the star wars galaxy. Slang terms, technology, society, timeline, everything. I was disappointed that my teachers or family couldnt appreciate that, so i went online to find an audience. And thats how i came to be in the RS. (see Links for info on the RS)
"Daggerscout 2: Thumper Commandos" - Obviously, this is the second part. This is a little less dark, and a lot better written structure and style-wise, and also in character development. After i finished the first story and got a positive responce, i knew i could do even better, so this is what i wrote to prove that to myself.
"Daggerscout 3: Untitled" - This is one of the stories currently being written. As opposed to being the excersise in writing the other two were, i was writing this solely to develop the character of Teke Daggerscout. And its turning out rather well. I've gotten comments from several diffrent people that it reads just like a Stackpole novel. LOL while i truely doubt that its THAT good, i'm happy with it so far. Just have to finish it so i can post it. :)
"Tim Montana and the Sky Chickens" - This i wrote for an English class in college, and i just love it to death. Its the ultimate in strangeness. The excersise was this: We were given a MASSIVE list of completely unrelated random words, and we were to write a story that included ALL of the words. Most people ended up with these five to seven page stories trying to use all the words and still have a story. Well, i managed to cram the words in so tight, i hardly had any words at all that werent on the list! It was... i believe less than two pages long.
"Vicky Did It" - This i wrote while i was in high school. I dont remember what for, but i'm pretty sure it was a class assignment. Anyway, i was pokeing fun at my English teacher, who was really young, but came across as a little prudeish. I just exaggerated her character and let my imagination go. In film school i adapted this to screenplay, but never shot it.
