Biography:

A renowned poet once wrote: "A daughter is a treasure." And in the case of Mike Haggar's beloved daughter, Jessica, the phrase certainly rings true.

Born on a warm summer's day in 1970, Jessica was her parents' pride and joy. As a young child, she had idolized her mother, and there was rarely ever a time that she was absent from her side. Like most mothers and daughters, Jessica shared a very special bond with her mother, one that only strengthened as Jessica came of age.

The news of her mother's death was devastating to her. As a teenager, she had never even imagined that such a tragedy could befall her family. Not all was lost, however, as her mother's loss served to bring Jessica much closer to her father. While she and Haggar had always shared a healthy relationship, it wasn't nearly as strong as Jessica's relationship with her mother. But in the wake of tragedy, she and Haggar came to rely on each other, and in time, their bond became just as strong.

Then came the day that Mad Gear took her for ransom. As terrified as anyone could be during a kidnapping, Jessica spent several days being shuttled to different parts of Metro City, in an effort to elude a special task force that was apparently pursuing them. Little could she have known, however, that the 'task force' on Mad Gear's heels was her own father, aided by her boyfriend Cody and his best friend, Guy. The chase came to a violent end in Adolus Belger's penthouse, when Cody, in a fit of rage, sent the gang leader crashing through a window to his death, a full sixty stories to the street below.

When the battle was over, Jessica reunited with her father. Immediately following their tearful reunion, Jessica ran to catch up with her boyfriend, who had already left Belger's penthouse. When she found him, Cody explained that as long as evil continued to stalk the streets, neither of them would be able to live peacefully. With that, she and Cody shared a long embrace, and then he departed, never to be seen again.

These days, Jessica spends much of her time traveling with her father, managing his career in the CWA. But even on those long, arduous nights on the road, she still thinks of Cody, in the hopes that he will find his way back to her someday.
