Wednesday January 28, 2004: I think that there are important clues for business in the bible. There are many other places with important information for business owners. The bible, though, is a history of a financially successful people and it makes sense that the bible should offer some important guidance. 1 Thessalonians (above) seems to be recommending small business ownership and entrepreneurship as the way to wealth and self-sufficiency.

Perhaps the bible also tells us how to relax! Read on...

Relaxation Suggestion: Sit quietly with your eyes closed. Allow your mind to settle down to a state of no thought. Do this for a few minutes a day.

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God;"

Isaiah 30:15 "For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not."

1 Chronicles 22:9 "Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days."

If King Solomon was a man of rest as well as an incredibly wealthy man, perhaps this is, in part, a path to wealth and peace!!

Saturday August 23, 2003: Controlling your expenses can be more important, and easier, than trying to increase your income. The net effect will be the same, increased wealth. Controlling expenses is extremely important when developing a business.

Friday August 22, 2003: To develop a new business you need to PERSIST. Don't give up as long as you think your business is realistic. Over a period of time it will begin to pay all of your bills and much more!

Tuesday June 10, 2003: Today's lesson is that when gambling at a casino, spend time to eat and watch the people playing the machines. I have found that after a few weeks of this I have lost most of my desire to play the machines because I almost never see anyone walk away a winner. VLT and slot players seem to change from their original desire, which was to walk away a winner, to a desire to play the game. They usually gamble their winnings down to zero or to below the amount that they put into the machine. I think that the change in desire is due to the hypnotic effect of the machine, and perhaps, greed.
