SCRIPT SUBMISSION

Writers:

Submissions for the
2015 - 2024
production period
are being accepted.

You wrote a great script
and want to submit it.

We see only
scripts by writers
represented by
WGA (USA), WGC (Canada),
AAA (UK), or IPSG (Ireland)
signatory literary agents

or
a board certified
intellectual properties,
literary
or
entertainment attorney.

If you are
represented
by a
non-signatory agent
or by an
uncertified advocate

we will not accept your submission.

Here is what we expect:

**Originality is important.**

If your script can be described in terms like:
' "High Noon" meets "Police Academy" '
or
' "Romeo and Juliet"
joins forces with
"Teen-age Mutant Ninja Turtles" ',
save your postage
because
we won't read it.

If your script is not a
good,
strong,
well-constructed story
with
appropriate
character development,
work on it
before contacting us.

If your sluglines and action lines
are sloppy or inconcise,

clean them up
and make them
crisp.

Is your script
full of
editing or
camera direction?
Fix it!

We want
to see
the story.

If you are grammatically challenged,
ask someone
to help you

whip it into shape
before enquiring.

Lang Syne
scripts
are
creative,
literate,
intelligently done,
innovative,
and

highly marketable.

*******

Think your script can

pass the test?

Here's what to do:

E-mail or snail mail
a logline of your script.

See if you can excite us
in
twenty-five

words
or less.

Lang Syne Films
is a business,
and
your query is
a business letter.

If you can't write
a simple
and
proper
business letter,
how do you
expect to
convince us
that you can
write a script?

Think about it!

So.....
if your query
begins with
"Hey, Dude,"
or
"Yo,"
or
"Hi,"
it will go
directly
into the

Uh-Duh file;

Also,
and,
this is really, really
important:
on the lower left
of the envelope,
or
in the subject line
of your e-mail,
put the word

so it doesn't get

or
lost forever
in a
huge stack

of mail.

If we like what you tell us,
we'll reply to your query
and ask for the script.

Do not
send
your script
until
we ask for it!

Remember:
Unsolicited scriptsdo not go to Heaven

Do NOT
tell us
how you sent the script
to this star
or that producer,
or how
your cousin Geebo
is going to play the part
of

the spotted pig.

Think you have
talent
attached?

Show us the contract.

Only an attachment
with a real
contract

or a
funding agreement
with

money on the table
means anything.

If
you do not receive
a reply
to your query
you either
did not follow our instructions
or
your query
did not
especially excite us.

Don't give up!!

Re-read the instructions
and
send another query.

It may take
up to

twelve weeks
before your script
is read.

As many as
five people
here at
Lang Syne Films
might read it
before it is
added to our inventory,
sent back to you for revision and resubmission,
or rejected.

If it is rejected by us,
it only means
it is not
the calibre of script
we handle.
It does not mean
some other studio
or
distributor
won't want it.

If we do add it to our inventory,
be ready for the real work

of
getting it funded
and
produced.

It can take

time
- a lot of time.
