Objective:

My objective is to work to the best of my ability in order to become a middle or high school English Education teacher.

Employment:

I worked at the New York Renaissance Festival in Tuxedo, NY during the months of July-September of 1998. My job consisted of selling food from a booth to the people visiting the fair. This was my first job besides babysitting and it helped me to learn some important people skills.

My next job was at Friendly's in Goshen, NY. I started in December of 1998 and I still work there today. This job consisted of waiting on tables and serving food. I learned how to deal with all different types of people working at the resturant. My people skills were greatly enhanced.

Along with working at Friendly's, i also worked at CVS in Goshen, NY as a cashier. This job improved my money skills as well as my people skills.

I also worked at The Bulls Head Inn, a four star dining facility in Campbell Hall, NY bussing tables. This job improved my people skills- especially professionally because many doctors and lawyers dined there.

During the summer of 2001, I worked at the dining facility in the West Point Army base serving food and working buffet parties.

While away at school, in Cortland, NY, I worked as a Night Clerk a few nights a week in my dorm, Cheney Hall.

Activities:

In High School, i was part of the Yearbook staff and a member of the ski and snowboarding club.

I took Drivers Education and Defensive Driving Courses.

I became a lifeguard.

I was CPR and First Aid certified.

I volunteered in a third grade classroom at Cortland, NY.

I observe a 10th and 12th grade English class in Homer Senior High School.

Skills:

My people skills are great. Through my experiences working and being involved in classroom activities, I have a good amount of knowledge concerning people's attitudes and how to properly communicate with them on a number of different levels.

I have knowledge of CPR and First Aid; with these skills, I am able to possibly save a life.

I am able to work well with others, students and peers alike.
