No not the nice jolly one with Michael Keaton, this was made a year before and is about a killer snowman on the loose. Jack Forst is a serial killer on his way to the electric chair. However en route to his execution there is a big snow storm and the truck he is driving in collides with a truck full of dangerous chemical. He thinks he can escape but as he gets out of the truck he is hit with the chemicals in the truck and melts into the snow. Now he can continue killing only this time he will be a snowman. Jack decides to get revenge on the man who caught him, Sam. He eventually reaches the town where Sam lives and starts killing everyone he sees but his main target is Jack Sam. Sam realises that Jack is a snowman but now him and the town must stop him before Jack kills everyone.This is a cheesy b movie but it doesn't try to be a work of art and knows that its future was a straight to video film so the film doesn't really care. It is a fun film and although some of the cheesy dialogue can make you wince at times "I only axed you for a smoke" is one this film is an okay watch. The acting is what you would expect in a film like this and although soem of the effects are good the computer ones are terrible. There are a few laughs in this film but it will never be looked upon as a masterpiece of film making. Watch this film with low expectations and it may just live up to them but do not expect anything but an entertaining no brainer of a movie or you will be disappointed. 7 out of 10 |
