Performance: This is Not an apple
Inspired by Rene Magritte, "This is Not an Apple" is a
surrealist mural brought to life. Embodying the everyman in
pinstripes and a bowler, and the passionate artiste the two
explore these opposing examples of human character with satire,
live and recorded music, and fire. Throughout the show they
are dramatically linked by flesh hooks and rope, playing out
the universal tug-of-war between free expression and dutiful
perseverance in blood and metal. As images collapse into one
another and roles become inverted and we are reminded of the
innate necessity that resides within the other.

some art work on Match's back. Carmen designed and carved
on the fly!
