I've started this website because I, like so many of you out there I think, love stop-motion animation. Then why didn't I make a page about Ray Harryhausen you might ask. The answer is simple. Phil Tippett was to me growing up what Harryhausen was to Phil Tippett. I fell in love with the art of stop-motion watching the Star Wars trilogy as a kid and was changed forever. I, of course, also love Ray Harryhausen's work but I didn't discover him until quite late. Had I lived in America I might have seen his movies sooner. So, basically it's Tippett's fault that I am the way I am. :)

He could just as well have been talking about me.

Tippett Studio doesn't create stop-motion effects anymore but Phil Tippett is still the man I admired the most growing up. I wanted to be him. :) And he still does great work, he's still the best even tho I don't feel quite as nostalgic about CGI. ;)

Basically I've made this site to amuse myself and also train myself in writing. I've never very good at that and I could use the practise. And what better way to learn things then to learn them while writing about your favorite things in the world: movies and special effects.
