Phil Tippett:
"When you're trying to imagine a ghost or a spectral entity it kind of exists differently
in the mind of every person. Ghost stories are scary because everybody is bringing
their own fears to it and it's a mental construct. So that was really the trick in this show."
Craig Hayes:
"For a lot of the things we do, bugs, dinosaurs, robots, there's a certain amount of reference
you can find. You can go and look at how real robots move or study animals for a type
of behaviour. But a ghost is pretty tough. Nobody really knows what a ghost looks like.
Or hopefully you don't know what a ghost look like."
Phil Tippett:
"Jan's been very careful to build this film on a level of sustained creepiness.
And that's been the intriguing and interesting thing for us.
I mean, there are cartainly action-, exciting-, tension-driven set-pieces as well
but Jan's two directions throughout this has been 'subtle and freaky'."
