Peter "Pete" Sarsgaard was born on March 7, 1971. This makes P-Dawg a Pisces, so we can assume he's fluid and easy-going (according to Astrology.com). Pete was born at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. We're guessing his family had a small role in the box-office blockbuster Top Gun.

Between birth and college, not much is known. We have been able to piece together that Peter developed both physically and emotionally during that time.

One story that has emerged from these formative years involves a 10-year-old Peter. “I was living in St. Louis nearby a place called Horse Park. I lived next door to the zoo, and I went around and collected money for the save the elephants fund and kept quite a bit of it.” When his parents were made aware of this, he says that they made him return the money and confess to all the neighbors that he lied to them. Peter describes the event as “traumatic” for him.

Despite this psychological torture, Peter was able to attend Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he majored in History and Literature. He was popular with the ladies, enchanting them with pick-up lines like "Do double-majors turn you on?" During this time, he co-founded a comedy improv group called "Mama's Pot Roast." It's a strange name, we know, but we have to assume Peter knew what he was doing.

After college, we're pretty sure he had a short stint with Estee Lauder, where he both moved furniture and most likely submitted to cosmetics allergy testing. Being a fan of unstructed work hours, Pete naturally began to pursue acting full-time. Lucky us.
