Review:
Disney delivers a film that was poorly marketed and in select theatres only. This film was not widely known and decided to come out the same weekend as Along Came Polly and Torque. Amazingly this animation film fills us with more entertainment than the other two films that came out.
Teacher's Pet, a sixty-eight minute disney film is quite hilarious with plenty of gags and it makes fun of other films. Would someone call this a film? Not at all. If I'm not mistaken, this was a cartoon on television. Which now was made into a film.
Rugrats have had their share of films, Barney, Looney Tunes and soon Spongebob. However, those are pretty well known to the public, but the quiet Teacher's Pet delivers a pretty good hefty amount of laughs and its arguably a nicely put together animated feature.
The first animated film of 2004 is actually very surprising, it isn't a great movie, but for its length it delivers. The film is animated very well, planned carefully with good jokes. Not everyone will understand the jokes Teacher's Pet is trying to make, but either way you will still smile at the end of it.
Teacher's Pet is an extremely short film though. At only sixty-eight minutes, it almost feels like if you were watching the film on television. The length doesn't take away from the film, but I can definitely picture more interesting elements if it were to go a bit longer.
You should be glad, I don't eat green birds.
You are probably asking why would making it longer make it better. The fact why it would be better is because the film itself at sixty-eight minutes was very funny, but at the end of it you felt like you were there for half an hour literally. You don't go to the theatres to watch a television show. With that said, there is plenty of fun to have with this movie.
Teacher's Pet had plenty of story on it and some memorable scenes for that matter. As entertaining as it was, the flaw of it would be the length, but nothing more actually. It simply keeps your bottom glued to the seat long enough to have a decent time.
If you are a parent looking for a fun film for yourself and your children, I would recommend watching Teacher's Pet. There is no harm in the film and plenty of laughter for both parents and children. The flaws in Teacher's Pet are hardly noticeable and forgettable, not to worry.
At the end of it, this film works out pretty well, especially as an animated film. Simply because it was short doesn't make it a disappointing movie at all. For its running time, Teacher's Pet is fun and memorable. Its simply an enjoyable, fast, laughable Disney film.
