Most Overrated Film
Overrated is quite a big word and it signyfies something that was praised too much for its own right and in fact it wasn't that good... Here are the nominees for Most Overrated Film:
Finding Nemo
This is a very good addition from Pixar, there is no arguing that. I enjoyed this film very much and I thought it was very funny. Witht that being said, the critics and the general have praised it a bit too much. Their are plenty of perfect scores out there for Finding Nemo and some have Finding Nemo in their top ten films of the year. I loved Finding Nemo, but it wasn't amazing.
Master and Commander: Far Side Of The World
Good film, but nothing more than that. Nominated for ten academy awards is way more than anyone imagined. Master and Commander seems like it will be the Gangs Of New York of last year. Meaning that it is nominated for a lot of awards, but probably won't any at all. However, Gangs Of New York is an amazing film and better than Master and Commander without a doubt. I enjoyed Master and Commander, but its just a fun flick, thats all.
The Matrix Reloaded
A fun sequel that lakced a bit of story was The Matrix Reloaded. I enjoyed this movie somewhat, but it definetely got too much praise and some were saying that its better than the first part. Actually, the first part is a classic now compared to the sequels. Still, while saying that, I still liked Reloaded for what it was, but it sure as hell could have been better and it sure as hell was overrated.
School Of Rock
Jack Black delivers a good performance here and this film is funny half the time. I can almost recommend this movie for good laughs and a fun time, but there was extreme flaws in it. It is extremely obsurd how first the crtics raved about it being one of the best recent comedies and it also has an extreme high rating on imdb. This flick is somehwta good, perhaps a bit average, but the praise it got was way offline.
Shaolin Soccer
Sometimes I get the feeling that people exaggerate when they see an asian film. For one thing, Shaolin Soccer is very funny, but its actually so funny that it becomes silly afterwards and ends up hurting the final product. Shaolin Soccer was loved by many and some have even said its better than Matrix Reloaded. Both Reloaded and Shaolin Soccer lacked in placs, but I would place Reloaded a bit high than this film.
