2003 Wooden Robbie Nominees

Best Comedy/Romance Film

Looking for good laughs or a film to take your date too, then of course what better than a comedy or a romantice film to fill your pleasures. Comedy for one thing can be many things, from physical comedy, to plain good jokes to things that come unexpected. As for Romance, a film that certainly has you hooked with the characters and fills you with emotion and perhaps tears for them means you certainly watched a good romance film. So whats the funniest or most romantic film of the year you ask? Well lets see... Here are the nominees for Best Comedy/Romance Film:

Bruce Almighty

Jim Carrey returns to the comedic role and he delivers with a hilarious film. A great story about the power that god beholds and with the hilarious Jim, you might have to hold on to the popcorn or it might just spill.

Down With Love

In this great romance, Renee Zellwegger and Ewan Mcgregor have so much chemistry together that it is unbelieveable. The film is so delightful and colorful for that matter and it certainly fills you up with glee. A truly orginal romance film that doesn't come quite often.

Intolerable Cruelty

Its another film by the Coen Brothers and it stands as another good outing from these talented directors. But directors aside, this film is extremely funny and has some humorous romance between Clooney and Jones. The teasing that Jones does in this film steals it and Clooney plays this role almost to perfection.

Johnny English

A Bond spoof. If you would want to categorize this film as something, than a Bond spoof would be it. This film features the infamous Rowan Atkinson known for his Mr. Bean roles and boy is it quite hilarious. There is plenty of laughter here, although its not in the calibur of Austin Powers, it is definetely a bond spoof to consider.

Old School

The teenage audience will swallow this one whole. There is nothing like a bit of sick and sexual humor. Its becoming a larger scene with cinema and I am not going to deny that some have been extremely funny. Will Ferell steals the film here and this is certainly a film to laugh about.

Shaolin Soccer

Although I rate this as an average film, it certainly has plenty of laughs, there is no denying that. From the stupid comedy it brings from the japanese actors to the magical flying and stunts they do when they begin the soccer playing. If you want to laugh than look no further than Shaolin Soccer.

School Of Rock

If you take away one or two flaws, School Of Rock is a good movie. The comedy is present with Jack BLack and the story is a powerful one about bands trying to make it. Either way, Jack delivers a funny performance and how he treats the kids is a handful of laughs.

And The Winner Is...
