Learning How to LearnSchools often seem to have overlooked teaching this most-basic subject. Schools always seemed more interested in what was to be learned, and by when, than in actually providing learning strategies and techniques. Most of my adult life found me in the corporate seminar business, putting on single-day events of my own design, almost always incorporating some aspects of learning. The section called Learning How To Learn tells more about the seminars. After a ruinous foray into the music business, I found my seminar business seemed to have drifted away. I thought I could re-kindle the dormant career through writing. First, I wrote a book based on the seminars, entitled Be Your Own Expert! I was sure it would send me out on the promotional trail, and loads of companies would want seminars by the author of the book based on the seminars in the first place. See its proposal in this section. When I realized how much more interesting and useful information and activities I'd developed over twenty-five years, I embarked on creating an interactive educational adventure, for CD-ROM, or perhaps artificial intelligence. It, too, remains unproduced, but you can learn more in the section called Dr. Brain's Train. |
