But who knows what she spoke to the darkness, alone, in the bitter watches of the night, when all her life seemed shrinking, and the walls of her bower closing in about her, a hutch to trammel some wild thing in?
~Gandalf of Eowyn in The Return of the King, book v, chapter viii
This is one of those songs that you hear and an image just springs into your mind. First time I heard it, I thought of Eowyn – as the books describe her, not as the desperate, lovesick loser she is in the movies – and I knew I had to make this video. I tried to capture her as I see her portrayed in the books: fair, strong, and cold. I also dissected her relationships to the different men in her life. And all in all, I’m very proud of how this vid turned out. I hope others like it as well.
