CHARLES F. MYERS

Better known for his pen name of Henry Farrell, author of the novel "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" and the screenplay "Hush ... Hush, Sweet Charlotte" as well as many other novels and screenplays, Myers first wrote fantasy stories under his real name. Ten of the first twelve stories dealt with the character of Toffee, the Dream Girl of Marc Pillsworth's imagination -- who became a "real" person in the real world when Marc was in trouble and needed help (and she usually created more difficulties for him).

THE COMPLETE ADVENTURES OF TOFFEE

Apparently paying homage to Thorne Smith and "Topper", Charles F. Myers wrote a series of stories starring Toffee, a dream girl in the strictest sense of the word: she resided in Marc Pillsworth's mind. She also existed in the real world whenever she could escape Marc's subconscious. The Toffee stories are pure fantasy, are fun to read, and are a bit mischievous and spicy. All ten Toffee stories are contained in this volume and all of the original illustrations from the pulps and digest magazines where the stories first appeared are included.
