SAN XAVIER DEL BAC MISSION

Mission San Xavier del Bac was founded by Father Eusebio Francisco Kino in 1692 near a Pima Indian village. This was the old church. The current church was built in 1783 with a 7,000 peso loan. From 1828 to 1858, the church was vacant because of political reasons and began to decay. In 1859, repairs to the church began.
